I bought a CMD102P and was blown away by the sound. I used to have an SVT and a fridge in the 80's, doing mainly smaller gigs now and the Markbass cuts it. Also have an Eminence 4x10 for bigger gigs. I love the Markbass.

More than the long life is the consistent sound throughout their life and the feel on your fingers, though I guess this is more a personal choice

You could try a Markbass CMD102P - amazing tones for pick and fingers, line out for recording and lightweight 300 watts 8 ohms / 500 watts 4 ohms

Keep going with the Gripmaster - I have nerve troubles with my fingers after playing for 37 years, but have had massive improvement (despite the doctors saying it wouldn't help). Maybe use un ultralight tension and work up to a medium tension. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tip, Jimmy. Anthony Lucas from Eminence got back to me and said they were an order from an OEM manufacturer - 8 ohms and possibly rated at least 75 watts. I checked the box impedance and it was 8.6 ohms, so I think this will do as a second box for my Markbass CMD102P
