The Aguilar on-board preamp is running with the 9V battery but the signal output seems lower than my passive P Bass. I'm contemplating adding another 9V battery to the cavity in series to bump it up to 18V. Wondering if anyone has tried this and how it worked out?

100% ! My 2007 US made WT550 still sounds so amazing... with 2 Eden 2x10 8 ohm cabs. I've not heard anything that can match...yet.

@Chuck M Congratulations! This amp gets so much positive praise. Unfortunately the one I recently received from SW had so much hiss at mid-level input and master setting I had to send it back. I tested this amp with my current setup (which is dead quiet) using the same pair of 2x10 8-ohm...
