    Mike Dean of COC.

I also saw them play with Clutch, back in January 2006. Sadowsky Jazz bass was all I noticed of his gear. Maybe the ultra llw end on the EQ is boosted. Hard to say...

    Mike Dean of COC.

After waiting many years for Pepper to rejoin Corrosion of Conformity the boys release the mighty No Cross No Crown and that bass tone that shattered the earth on In The Arms Of God is back. Has anyone an idea of how he achieves such a tone? Heavy strings perhaps...

    D Standard Club (DGCF)

I keep my Warwick Streamer Standard bass (2001 German model) in DGCF using D'Addario ProSteels 55-110. It's a great woody yet glassy sound and the tuning is one of my favourites as I play death metal as well as Corrosion of Conformity...

    Drop C# Tuning in 4string

    For Drop C# (C# G# C# F#) I would say 115-85-65-45. However, I don't think there are many 115s lying around...

    - Rotosound Swing bass 66 praise club -

    Gentlemen. Count me in. I love Rotosound Swing'66 and use RS66LF (45 65 85 105) on my Jazz and Precision basses and RS66LE (50 70 85 110) on my Warwick. For my Yamaha 5-string it's RS66LF again with added 130 low B. Cheers! W.

    Rotosound Bass Strings

Wonderful strings although not widely available in Sweden (my part, anyway) so I order them from England. I find they keep their tone for a long time and, less importantly, look fantastic!

    Tuning to 'D' standard

My band plays everything in D standard and I use 50.70.90.110 Rotosound Nickel strings. I find this gauge mix works very well for tuning down one step.

WHat's farthest you tuned a set of .0105-.045 set

I had my Warwick tuned to C (C F Bb Eb)for a while back in 2007/8, mainly to prepare for a gig, with D'Addario Nickel 45-105. Looking back it seems ridiculous. Such low tension. This was before I looked into such things as retaining tension for down tuning. Nowadays I use 60-120 for this tuning.

Stainless Steel Rounds on a Precision

I'm also using Roto Swing'66, great metallic yet vintage sound.

    Strings with brightest sound

Oh, I meant to mention Elites Stadium strings. They don't mellow as soon as Roto's (by my experience), they retain their metallic grind for a very long time.

    Strings with brightest sound

I'm using Rotosound Swing '66, D'Addario ProSteels and La Bella Hard Rockin' Steels at the moment. From this experience (strings applied about the same time roughly 2 months ago) I've found the La Bella strings to be the least bright, even from the beginning, but they hold the initial tone for a...

Why are old Peaveys so cheap?

I have have a Peavey Milestone I Jazz bass from 1994. It was my first so I hadn't any basis for comparison at the time. 6 Basses later and I say it's tone is amazing. It's the only electric bass I've had with the original nut intact and it's very well built. My parents bought it for me, a 'good...

Most common string gauge: 4-string, standard tuning

I clicked 'Other' as I use 50.70.85.110 for standard tuning. The sound is very heavy, the strings bite back as they're quite taut and 85 A has similar tension to 110 E. It's good for playing fast. I wouldn't mind using lighter strings, as they give a very nice, clear tone and sustain. But for...
