Enjoying mine, have played a few gigs with it. Still have some string buzz, needs some more fine adjustments I guess. Otherwise it's fun to play and so light and compact! Our gigs have tight stages so the smaller form works well.....and everyone seems to like how it sounds too!

I am getting a good amount of noise, from the pickups.
I thought it might be the tone pot...so I had that changed out...
But still have noise, when tone is above, say 2.
Anyone have the same issue with a possible solution?
Shielding suggestions....?

Hi, what I would do, it is semi hollow, chambered, is copper shield all the cavities. Then make sure all the shielding is connected and grounded to one of the pots. Good place to start
Is this noise that goes away if you touch the strings, the bridge, or the metal on the output jack?
It sounds like the bridge ground wire has come disconnected. On the RumbleKat (and on most Gibson basses), the bridge ground wire is held in place by one of the metal cups in the body that the bridge screws into. If the cups were pulled out previously then the wire may have come loose (the cups coming loose under string tension is a fairly common issue with that type of bridge). Lots of grounded shielding would negate the need of a bridge ground, but shielding the Rumblekat sufficiently may be difficult because of the hollow body
Interesting info, @sunbeast. I'm not having the noise issue mentioned by Russell G, but this is interesting to know. I changed bridges on my Rumblekat a year or two ago (to Supertone), and it sounds like that coulda caused a grounding wire issue, but fortunately it doesn't seem to have done so.
If you didn't remove the cups from the bass (which shouldn't have been necessary to add the Hipshot), then it shouldn't have caused an issue unless on your particular bass the ground wire was held into the front cup which the Hipshot doesn't utilize.
Right, I didn't have to do anything with the cups. Just unscrewed the old bridge and screwed the new one in.
Apparently it is inconsistent just which cup they use to secure the ground wire, so I could imagine the Hipshot could be an issue for some people
Trying to recall where I got the knobs for mine. I think it was guitarfetish.com…I think. I will see if I still have anything from them.
Got my knobs from Link Removed, For tuners Hipshot HB6 3/8 are drop ins, enjoy!So I picked up the Rumblekat a few months ago to have something to try mods on. The Supertone bridge is already installed and I have some new mini humbuckers ready to go. Some new much needed tuners are on the way.

Turns out I got the knobs from Qparts.com. The actual name of the company is Q-Parts, but the web address doesn’t have the dash.
