Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

Two of my BBs from 1985 uses 8mm truss rod nut. I think yours is maybe from 1981 with the given s/n and 8mm socket wrench would probabily do. And what a nice condition! Love that colour and in house bridge clean as it can be! I could find some catalogues for you! It says: 'W-pole piece...

Best Bass to amp wireless rig

I used Line6 Relay G55 which is awesome but for it's size which is half a rack. It covers wide range of the frequencies and I don't hear any tone dampening.

Combo amp makes noise when turned off

The sound is way smaller than normal slap/pop sound so maybe I'll be fine. And I was doing some research with the schematics, and I think it actually don't have the relay that shutting off the signal to the cabinet. And of course same thing on power on, it almost immediately makes sound as soon...

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

Gotoh VTB-4 also has 5 bolt 17.5mm spacings. And I think it has more vintage aesthetics than 203B-4. I chose 203B as I was planning to pair with GB707 machine heads which looks more modern, if I was not changing the machines, I might have chosen VTB.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

It's very sick. But the pole pieces are flat and cannot be adjusted with height so the E and G strings sound bigger than others.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

203B-4 with extra two more pilot holes made. It took me 2 hours to drill through the 40yo dry wood and finish without making any single crack. I did not need to, as it could be mounted with just 5 bolts in 17.5mm spacing, but I wanted it to have full contact so I did it.

Combo amp makes noise when turned off

Thanks a lot! That makes me feel much better. As I have never experienced that with other amps I played with, I think I was worried too much.

Combo amp makes noise when turned off

I got small combo amp called PJB Briefcase, and whenever I turn it off it makes a popping noise like 'PZZzz..', even if I turn the volume all the way down before turning it off. And actually I can see the cones are shrinking inwards when it is making that noise. Is it serious problem? Is it...

LaBella Super Polished Stang set on other bass

Super Polished has been my favourite string set so far and LaBella recently(?) released shortscale set exclusively for through body Mustang. And I own shortscale SG basses that are not through body stringing design, but I wanted to give it a try. Well, the obvious bottom line is, it doesn't...

When did you know you were a bassist?

One day I was at home watching an old film called Good Fellas, and an ost of that film just struck me. I was so shocked that I stood up from my desk and shouted like crazy. Of course it was Sunshine of Your Love by Cream, and that was the moment I first recognized rock band music and also...

Fender Aerodyne Special P - looks like you CAN install a pickguard on it?

Might not be the perfect answer for you, but I made a pickguard out of thin urethane film. I needed some protection on slap zone, and I definately did not want any screw holes on this dead clean surface. Urethane film by itself is quite adhesive to smooth surface so you don't even need glue...

    NBD! My first full-custom bass

It doesn't neck dive both with seated and strapped Headmachines are quite light (hipshot and grover) and the body is heavy af so the balance by itself is okay, and now the balance is not the main problem lol But got no regret Those mahogany wings under open pore satin finish is bloody sexy

    SG & EB Bass Club

I play in band and we write songs, so I have some 'versatile picks', yes. SG-EBs are cool but they're not for every tune you know lol The neck pickup of the Greco EB is acutally a massive SINGLE COIL pickup although it looks like sidewinders. It sounds like a Rickenbacker neck pickup with...
