Question about laptops / internet - how to?

Right now we have high speed internet for our desktop system, which is about to be replaced with a laptop. So right now, it just plugs into the computer. So without changing anything with my internet service provider, I assume that I could just take a new laptop and plug in the same yellow...

Hey all. I'm a computer dummy... and I need to buy the family a new computer. I'm thinking of buying a Dell laptop. They all seem to have Windows 7. Question - Does windows 7 have the ability to have multiple logins / accounts / user profiles - whatever that is called. Like on Windows XP...

vibrato on fretted bass... how does this work?

I always thought that on violin, cello, fretless bass guitar that vibrato was made by "rolling" your finger quickly back and forth... ever so slightly changing your string stopping position and creating the wavering vibrato effect. Obviously, this doesn't carry over to fretted bass. I do...

Quit the band or not? (it is my own fault)

Everything has been pretty good with my latest band... We're adults and hobbyists. We get along and have pretty similar taste in music. We managed to play a really cool / fun gig after just one month and I was pretty happy at that point. Everything seemed fine and for the most part it still is...

Which glue for bass wood body / strap button?

After my last rehearsal I noticed that one strap button has become very loose. Close call! Bass wood is so soft, I'm not even going to bother tightening the screw without adding some glue. I play hard and don't want to risk a failure. Super Glue? Carpenters wood glue? Gorilla Glue? Other...

Thinking of becoming a "one woman man" (bass)

I like basses as much as the next guy, really, I do. I wish I could afford lots and lots of basses. But I can't... and I can't safely store too many. I have three. I'm a Fender guy and I have three very nice Fenders - a Precision, a Jazz, and a active P and J (P bass lyte). I like all three...

So, I’m starting up a new “old man hobby cover band”. We’ve agreed to cover Running With the Devil by Van Halen. So, I went through and mapped out the arrangement – and just to be nice, emailed it to the guitar player. He came back and said that he agreed...

Classic rockers - Help tab a Zepplin riff?

Sorry if this is a near duplicate post – I wasn’t sure if this was tabbing or general instruction. I’m working on learning The Ocean by Led Zep. I’ve got the verse and chorus and the basic arrangement down. I’m working on properly learning the walking bass part...

Classic rockers - Help me with a Zepplin riff?

I’m working on learning The Ocean. I’ve got the verse and chorus and the basic arrangement down. I’m working on properly learning the walking bass part at the end, but I can fake it for now. The part that is stumping me is after the walking bass part starts, there is a full band unison riff...

Dow Jones rising… new financial plan…

Yup, I’ve finally made a financial plan for the first time since the recession hit. If the Dow goes above 8,000 then I’ll actually take a look at the balance in my 401K. I haven’t been able to look in months. :bawl:

what in the world is "equipted"?

There's a commercial on TV. - I think it's for rugged lap-tops or something, and they use the word "equipted". I was pretty sure this was a slaughtered pronunciation of "equipped" but I'm not sure, as usually, advertisers don't make up words. But seriously, it bothered me, so I tried...
