If you can find one, get a Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0 with the 8" or 10" speaker, or 6.0/6.2 with the 12" speaker, Ibanez Promethean 300/500 watt 10" or other such designs, best of both worlds with the removable head and add-a-cab facility. Don't know why more companies don't make this combo design.

The original 1980's-early 90's Japanese Tune Bass Maniac 5s had 16.5-17mm spacing, I have a lefty one so that's what you need to fish for. They come up on Yahoo auctions sometimes as there are a few older Japanese ones still around

My brand new EHBMS5L truss rod nut was already burred/stripped when I tried to adjust the neck with the hex/Allen key so has anybody else had this QC problem with these basses? It's on its way back to the retailer for 'repair'; very disappointing

I found the bottom end fat, warm and clear. The 410 is 4 ohms and the 210 combo, which I also had wired up to use as a cab only for using a different head with, 8 ohms but plenty for a smaller sized venue. 410 would cut through 1000 seater venues via DI to PA but we were always through the PA...

Had a 210 combo & a 410 cab, same size as that 212, gigged them both for around 10 years, never had a problem. Still have the 410 in storage back home but would happily gig it out again.

Could the extra 1/4" length be dealt with by using a headpiece adaptor, which would artificially 'stretch' the usable length to compensate? With some types, you'd have to cut the ball off as it won't thread through the hole but the older type just uses a grub screw and string tension to hold it...

So you want to buy a lefty XP2 & string it righty or buy a righty XP2 & string it lefty? 4 string shouldn't be a problem, looking at my lefty strung XZ25L & even the 5 string looks doable, maybe with just a little filing of the headpiece. Original steinys, not spirits, actually had measured...

I think that gear sac is for the 8" speaker combo, I have one for my 10" combo & it fits fine. amp attached & all, also have the 8" combo. If I wasn't living in Japan, I'd snatch it up quick smart for a backup just because. GLWTS

I'm a natural righty who has played lefty (lefty strung) from the get go, just felt more natural to me when I started on guitar & had my stronger, more dexterous hand to form the chord shapes, left hand could more easily sort through picking & rhythm patterns. I've always likened it to pianists...
