    2 1x15's or 1 6x10?

These are my and my brothers fearful 15/6/1 crossover low-mid at 625hz. Please give technical reasons why a multi 10 inch cabinet would sound any better?

    2 1x15's or 1 6x10?

this narrowing dispersion can be solved with a crossover to a smaller midwoofer; on stage this can help to hear the speaker when it is not beaming at your head

    2 1x15's or 1 6x10?

old school sound is easy to equalize from a crossover bascabinet like a Fearful; just cut midhigh frequencies

    2 1x15's or 1 6x10?

In general the answers are physically clear: - a bigger speaker favors the lowers range and it beams more / is more directive higher up which can be bad up stage close nearby - a smaller speaker has better dispersion but can't give deep lows as a 15 can combining 1x15 and a 4x10 isn't a really...

Oke you can also check me in! :) i have a 15/6/1 3015LF 4ND410 XD125 and it sounds very nice, but i need a heavier amp because my amps 2xucd400(3015LF)+ucd400(mid+xd125) single power supply (smps400) goes into protection when i play really too loud for rehearsals/stage.

active XO @ 625Hz 24dbLR 2x UCD400HG on 3015LF 1x UCD400HG on mid/high with passive XO This works quit good, I can plug my bass just inb or use my Ampeg preamp SVT Pro. I added a big heatsink for the amps got to warm with a pretty big heatsink attached I still think the amps get to warm...

fEARful part 13: the bad luck's done, son

It's about 16 blue LED's mounted to the chassis of the 3015LF; they turn on with the inbuilt amp. Quit cool i think. The [W] is the first letter of my and my brothers familyname we have built two of these cabs together.

i wonder what my bass sounds like now. sound is really dry now, very nice on music too sounds pretty good must be much better, i really like to play in my band now volume up, and give it a go after listening for some time and comparing bass is nice and growling, but voices sound a little...

changing polarity seems to help very much problem solved. I love to play again now with this much better sound. making the port a little longer gives a dryer sound and i like the idea of the deeper less pronounced reflexport; if i want louder deep low energy i better like to use my...

Well it makes low end, that's for sure, I like to boost the lowest frequencie on my EQ and that feels really good. It's just that something is wrong when I listen to music; compared to hifispeakers it sound a bit muddy, too much midbass I think. - I'll try switching the polarity of the 3015LF...

Oke, i tried only the 6nd410 and xd125 and that sounded pretty good. The point is, when I added the 3015lf again music sound muddy and voices sound far away compared to my hifi-speakers. So perhaps the 3015lf is to loud instead of midhigh. The thing is, I would like heavy deep bass from the...

I think sensetivity is compensated for, 3015LF has about 99db SPL @ 1W 6ND410 has about 102db SPL @ 1W So I think midhigh is attenuated 3db. On the active filter PCB I can attenuate the highpass, so I think I'll give that a try. Passinwind : thanks for your interest.

Last week I was listening to several diy speakers i've made in the last few years and we also listened to music on my fEarfuls 15/6/1. I made them active, 2xUCD400 on 3015LF crossed at 625 Hz to 1xUCD400 to passive crossover for 6ND410 and XD125. They sounded very colored compared to...

    - I don't think the HR is worth the extra money - the UCD 700 might be a better choice, but so much power is not necessary for mid/high i think - the smtp400 switching power supply should be able to deliver 600W continious, if nessesary i can add a second or even third one, but for now it is...
