I play an Ashdown ABM 210 and I imagine that the ABM500 would sound pretty sweet through it.

For me, being analytical ruins the song. Just listening to certain parts distracts me from all the instruments interacting as a whole, so I just listen to the song as a "fan". Soaking it all in allows me to appreciate the song better.

I played trumpet all the way from 6th grade thru high school. My junior and senior year of high school i joined jazz band. I was a decent sight reader before but man after joining jazz band, it was exponentially better. Learning out of necessity as others who have posted, it definitely works.
