Who has the tightest rhythm section?

and sade's band as well is very tight.

Tight meaning a bunch of guys playing like a clock... or tight as a bunch of guys playing off eachother and keeping it together.

If it's machine gun stuff, there are tons of hardcore bands that own this.

OVERALL...
The backline that always impresses me is Sade...

They don't have a ton of activity.. they never miss a beat and are locked in like glue.

Playing slow and tight is tons more talent than fast wanking with tons of activity.

+1 Were Paul and Ringo tighter than Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts? Was Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker tighter than John Paul Jones and John Bonham? They're all tight, otherwise they wouldn't have made it to the top!

Say what you will about John Mayer, when you say tight the first drum and bass duo that comes to my mind is Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino in JM3. They do Hendrix like nobody's business.
