Update. I rewired my PJ to a VBT configuration, it's perfect for my use, sounds perfectly fine to my ears. I'm very happy with it. Work just as good as my J bass in VBT. If you like master volume knob, have a PJ bass and considering this VBT mod, just do it.

Besides the blending capabilities of the blend pot, what are the theoretical/actual electronic pro and cons of it compare to a 3 way switch. I always used the blend pot like a 3 way switch anyway. I"m rewiring a passive P/J, and debating whether I should go with V-B-T or V-3way switch-T.
