Thank you! Yes the E and G string are close to the edge but it's not a problem, especially from the 12th fret to the 1st the edge is far enough from the strings.

Thank you! it's easy to play even the spring spacing is bigger than the usual and the sound is brighter from a fender p bass due to the stiffer wood i used.

    wooden bridge insanity (help designing)

that's true, i hold it with my fingertip at the right place (i marked the position of the saddle before) but you can put the saddle a bit forward so when you tight the string it goes at the right place. The most basic thing is to intonate once and mark the saddle position for each string.

So! the project is about to complete! after almost a year strings are in place and some noise is producing. Everything is handmade except the strings, the tuners and the truss rod. The nut is from synthetic marble, fretboard and bridge is iroko and the saddles are made from stainless steel...

    Strange fretless buzz

Maybe the fb under the not buzzing strings is deeper sanded and under the others is less so the action is not the same as it was. Try to increase action at E and A or check the action at nut, maybe you need to raise the nut from the E side a bit.

    Bonding aluminum to wood.

the force from the expansion can't be beaten by any glue, unless if you want to throw bows with that guitar... search for a kind of aluminum with less expansion

    Bonding aluminum to wood.

I'm starting to think along the lines of a mechanical approach. Right now I'm thinking of screwing it down, using screws in between the outermost strings, right at the typical places fingerboard markers are. Perhaps a countersunk screw, and then cover the screw top with a round aluminum inlay...
