Yeah, well I don't care what others think. I love the Orange sound and I'm having nothing but great compliments on my dual SP410 and BT1000 set up. Most common response I hear is "I need to get me one of those!" To each their own.

If I'm only using one 8 ohm cabinet, then the impedance is 8 ohms. If I use both outputs (one per cabinet), I'm down to 4 ohms. Didn't know about them being wired in parallel inside the amp, but I do know about the two pre amp channels. Thanks.

I think I understand. It allows one to put their effect pedal in between the two (if that's the tone they're going for). For me, it's as simple as bass > VT Bass > Amp

Thanks all for confirming what I believed to be true. My set up involves hooking up a cabinet to each channel. Now if only I knew how to use the FX loop thingy. I've never used it and don't even know what do with it. The only pedal I use is the VT Bass.

Amp > 8 ohm cab > 2nd 8 ohm cab = brings down impedance to 4 ohms? Amp is a GBE1200. This of course is out of a single channel if I choose. The GBE has dual channels, so if I hook up a cab to each one, impedance doesn't change. Just wanted to know if I use just one channel and daisy chain the...

So it's just about the tone (tube vs ss) and nothing really about volume? I have other 4x10's but just use one for now. I guess what I'm trying to get at is the amount of headroom available in a tube amp which is usually lesser in wattage than a ss that I've noticed.

Help me to understand something. How is 200 tube watts compared to say, a SS 350W per channel amp (i.e. Genz) running through a 4x10? Is it louder? Similar? What about headroom? Great price. Just looking for a few answers.

Good suggestions by all. I would consider playing just a fret lower, but it's hard when you need that open E flat. My hands are too small for fivers, btw. Just can't get comfortable with them.

Which bass would you use foe the half step down, a G&L tribute or the Geddy Lee Jazz? Both are 4 stringers, and the Tribute has active pups.

I have a second bass that I was planning on keeping tuned a half step down. ,y thought was to keep all of those songs on one set versus having to change in between songs.
