Need help with neo drivers for Verellen cab & WinISD

Scored a Verellen Meatsmoke hybrid w/ 212 cab and would like to lighten the load by using Neo drivers. I've installed WinISD and loaded the driver and box spec's as well as I can and now I have no clue what to do. I'm not certain 12" drivers are the way to go. I'm looking for either a vintage...

Les Lius and/or Electra Distortion variants on bass?

    I think @johnk_10 made one.

Another vote for 31" Birdsong scale.

Alternatives to SolidGold FX BC183 Imperial that do exactly that tone.

@slipitin dood, I've been following this thread as I'm on a Muff Quest right now. Perhaps you are getting low end loss, but I trust those who say there is none. Everyone's signal chain is different just as everyone's settings are. In my experience a pedal does not get discussed on TalkBass for...

    Quest for the elusive Muff

I cant remember where on TB I read that the blend was not as good as you'd think and that it affected the tone somewhat. edit: Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian - clean blend mod | TalkBass.com

    Quest for the elusive Muff

I can absolutely get behind that, but....mids and low end? How did those compare to the TFR which has all the low end I love.

    Quest for the elusive Muff

Ok, the Civil Unrest does a much better job of cutting in the band mix...but...every time I stomp it on I wish the tone was the Tall Font. I can't dial in anything near the creamy roundness that W&C have done. As mentioned before, the SUF has much more gain and volume on tap making it a VERY...

Is this a typical comparison between these two? What are other 'smooth, round, lower gain' Muffs?

    Quest for the elusive Muff

*this is just after about 90 minutes of noodling and twisting knobs by myself. Even though they both sound like Muffs they are so different. The Tall Font is much smoother with more bass and an even frequency range. I leave mine at distortion max and tone 1 o'clock. The Tall Font was punchier...

Eric Claridge and Doug McCombs (The Sea and Cake, Tortoise, etc.)

It is one of my desert island discs. Every time I listen to it I hear something new. I Set My Face to the Hillside is a classic. How about Seneca and Monica on Standards?

Watch my powers to raise the dead! HUGE fan here. Eric is one of my favorite players, a perfect combination of melody and rhythm.

it kinda looks like a sinister joker. like, when I stomp on it does it release a bunch of smoke that makes it smell like a casino?

PYPB 44: ...like Tetris with boxes, wires and cables

The Obscura ended the search for delay and Meatbox is my friend. Thank you @DigiTechRep! I was just about to say that you are nailing it, but what next? I love me some surprises, especially when I have some space to fill on my board.

PYPB 44: ...like Tetris with boxes, wires and cables

Mind the cords. Dirt isn't locked on due to my Muff Quest. Signal as follows: Tuna -> Beta (used as an always on comp) -> Meatbox -> TFR (Muff used as OD) -> TAFM (heavy fuzz0 -> The Depths -> Afterneath -> Obscura You'll notice the large hole next to the Team Awesome, it needs to be filled...

    Quest for the elusive Muff

When I first decided on a Muff it was actually a toss up between the TFR and the Greystache. I decided on the Tall Font because of simplicity (at the time it was my first pedal). I'll have to revisit Fuzzrocious. This seems right.

    Meatbox reissue, huh?

Oh yeah, it sounds great! And the synthyness is more pronounced in both of them which I'm not looking for right now. I'm getting some fantastic syth tones from Meatbox -> dirt -> The Depths -> Obscura delay.

Meatbox has officially retired the Octamizer. It tracks a little better and sounds less synthy.

SUF Civil Unrest here tomorrow. On the list: Cog Grand Tarkin Big Game EAND SGFX Imperial I'm on the lookout for a Zoom type digital dictaphone for recording/sharing my quest. Any thoughts on that? Oh, this is important too, last night at band practice I increased the tone to about 3 o'clock...

    Quest for the elusive Muff

I'm not sure. For my use it doesn't matter either. I use a short scale passive with Chrome flats. That's my thing. I do tend to use the bridge humbucker and roll the tone knob up and it makes a noticeable difference.

    Quest for the elusive Muff

Yes, that's what I do when I transition from personal practice to a band setting. It works but screws me whenever I stack other dirt or some modulation. I want to set the Muff to slightly above unity and be able to have the tone cut through, not just turn it up until it's loud enough to hear.
