Help learning the Greyboy Allstars song Soul Dream of West Coast Boogaloo album

I'm looking for someone to help me learn the bass lines for the Greyboy Allstars song Soul Dream of West Coast Boogaloo album. Happy to pay. Just need someone to break it down into simpler chucks, go slow. Do it on video. I've never done this type of learning before but willing to give it a...

Cheap AND lightweight cab to pair with a Rumble 500

I turned my Rumble 200 combo into just a 115 cab after the amp died. Just removed the amp and added a 1/4” jack. Light weight. Sounds great. Boom! My 500 combo fits perfectly on top. You could probably find a dead 200 for less than $100. Maybe even free. The rumble amps are unfixable…...

Sansamp with compressor, is this redundant?

IMO the BDDI does a lot of compression. I have a Keeley Bassist in front of it but my ratio is super low <3:1 and my threshold is super high. I"m finding it sounds better without it altogether when playing live. Recording or the signal to the front of house is quite different.

My Band Lowfires played Dante's tonight. It is legit rock club in Portland, Oregon. Some pretty big names have played there. Big Star, Wire, Dead Moon and a ton more. It's the biggest stage we've played. Awesome sound guy and sweet sound system. Very much appreciated. Yike...my bass amp...

My band Lowfires played a new club to us, the Hawthorne Hideaway in Portland, Or tonight. Super fun. The venue had a big'ish stage with a decent sound system and a sound guy which was a super nice luxury for us. No FOH support for bass. Sound guy said to just turn it up. I was fine with...

Was supposed to be a 2 show night. 1st gig at the Snug was canceled due to plumbing issues. I showed up and the place was flooded. Bummer. 2nd gig was a private party. Super fun. Better than normal sound system with an actual sound guy (not the norm for the dive bars we play). Super fun! A...

    Preamp pedals & amp EQ

This is what I try and do...possibly unorthodox... I get my pre amp (bddi v2) eq'd to sound as good as possible into my computer/DAW/Logic without any processing before gig/rehearsal. I record it, listen back, adjust preamp and record again until it sounds good. Listening when not playing is...

My band Lowfires played the Firk'n Tavern in Portland, OR last night. Super fun. That place always has a great crowd. We went on last which is rough. The hollow stage tortured me. I didn't bring anything to decouple. Last time I do that. Just a boomy mess even with HPF. Oh well. I'm...

My 10 year old Rumble 200 finally crapped out. Amp is cutting in out.. mostly out. Guess it's probably best to just trash the amp and turn it into a 15" cab for my 500. What do you think? It cost $100 to have someone look at it let alone fix it. It's only worth $200+.

Sweet mini stand! I'm all about a mini stands that fits in a gig bag. I have an ultimate that's great but when it dies this looks perfect. I love my bigger Hercules auto grip stand. Only wish I bought it sooner. It's by far the safest storage I've found. Just too big to haul to gigs.

Is a HPF redundant with a SansAmp BDDI V2?

I use Broughton HPF first in my chain (after tuner). The idea is that by reducing some of the low low end the compressor doesn't have to work so hard and can focus on more important freqs. The BDDIv2 is last and goes into my amp input. The rooms I play are usually boomy and I'm usually forced...

    Are practice amps becoming obsolete?

Maybe I'm not entirely sure what "practice" amp means in this context... Practice amp with a band? i.e. rehearsal? Practice amp for at home, solo, woodshedding? With Band/rehearsal...I use a regular gigging rig or some variation (smaller scale of it). You play like you practice. For home...

    Are practice amps becoming obsolete?

I’d much rather use my laptop with Logic, focusrite interface, KRK monitors or headphones. For me it makes it super easy to do the work. Amp is nice for quick and easy playing but if I need to learn something or work on something the computer works better for me.

Sorry to bring this old thread back to life but I'd love to get thoughts on LPF in regards to taming harsh hi end from fuzz and drive that goes out the direct signal. My amp does a fine job cutting them out. It sounds good live but the direct signal is harsh. I don't use a pre amp... the OP...

We’re a pretty loud band. I have gotten away with just the 200 before. It’s a little easier load in by itself too. But adding the 112 does get the 200 up closer to my ears and adds bigger/fuller sound. I love it!!
