Sorry, there have been posts about this earlier so I assumed it's common knowledge. The big red tab and small red tab are what is mehanically holding the jack inside. Yes, there is some grip because of the friciton from three contacts tins but the jack itself is not designed to rely on them...

I would advise against removing the red tab but people seem persistent on ruining their jacks. I got my bass b-stock from Thomann, with all tools and paper. Please do your homework and diss Ibanez for real reasons.
