    Fed ex sucks!!!

I have a job that requires me to deal with both Fedex and UPS on a regular basis. Let me assure you, they both suck. Just when I think one might be a little bit better than the other, something will happen to cause me to change my mind. I currently am a little bit more pissed off at Fedex but...

Worst Ever Bass/Amp Set Up You Will Admit To Owning

I've played 6 string guitar for most of my life, up until a few years ago. However, back in high school (mid 70's) I jammed regularly with some friends and did a short stint on bass. I had a Gibson EBO that I played through a Heathkit (2 x 12) guitar amplifier. I knew practically nothing...

UPS Ground Rates going UP UP UP

UPS rates go up about 5 or 5-1/2 percent each year. Fedex will follow. This is certainly nothing new or unexpected.

CDs Are Dying Three Times as Fast as Vinyl Is Growing

I still buy CDs regularly and I do not download any music. I mostly buy new CDs from E-Bay. I've been hearing for some time now about the demise of the CD and while I know that eventually it's end will come, so far I see very little evidence of it. I continue to be amazed at all the older...

To compress or not to compress?

I guess it's just the cynic in me but the opinion expressed by a guitar magazine may not necessarily be an unbiased one. One of a guitar magazine's main goals is to sell more advertising. To that end, they may influenced to push the products of the companies that buy their advertising space.

2018 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees Announced

Prog rock gets no respect from most rock journalists. I have a book, Rolling Stone's 500 greatest rock albums. There is not one Moody Blues album in there. There's not one Yes album in there.

Practice! Practice! Practice! I hate to state the obvious but if there is one rule about playing music that I have always found to be true, it is that if you practice, you get better.

I started playing bass a few years ago after coming to the realization that I was never going to be a good lead guitar player. I can play rhythm guitar pretty well I guess but rhythm guitar players are a dime a dozen.

I need a bass amp to go Christmas Carolling.

I have a friend who is a band director for a high school marching band. He once told me that he had a marching band that marched in a parade and they used a power inverter, a car battery and a Peavey combo bass amplifier. This enabled the bass player to march along with the band. I think they...
