I think the red looks great, and I had a really hard time deciding between it and the LPB. Solved the dilemma by getting blue for my V1 and then ordered a red V2 a couple weeks ago. Hopefully I'll be getting my hands on it any day now!

It does of course come down to personal preference. All I know is that, for me, my Cat is by far my favorite bass from 40+ years of playing. If something were to happen to it I wouldn't hesitate to try to replace it as soon as possible, and the price increase wouldn't make any difference.

Mine does the same, so the flat tone is not currently an option I can use, but I love playing this thing. It sounds like I should try shielding the pickguard to see if I can get that option back. Actually, I guess I should wait and see if this takes care of things for you, PockySteve. Will...

I was thinking the same thing. (Order # 5829) I am planning to play this bass the rest of my life, and the thought of having it professionally set up by such a respected craftsman means a lot to me.
