This afternoon, I was just starting to change my strings on my Fender American Pro II Precision Bass when the weirdest thing happened. I took the first string from the old set off the bass and I noticed that the tuning machine was loose. So I got a screwdriver to tighten it. When I started...

Can anyone help, I have a Fender Modern Player Jazz Bass and want to replace the machine heads. I'd prefer a set that would fit without needing to drill new holes.
I've had a look at the Grover 142C4 and the Schaller 503 110, I've also had a look at the Gotoh FB30 4L aged.
Some advice would be...
Hi Fellow Bassist.
This is an “OPINIONATED” post that seeks the “opinions” of other fellow bassist.
I have been assessing hipshot hardware over gotoh hardware. I find that in my opinion “Gotoh” is of better quality and of more variety than hipshot. It appears that people like hipshot because...
These came off a '94 Gibson Les Paul LPB-1 bass. I bought the bass around 2004 and immediately switched everything to chrome. These have been in an old Schaller box in my studio for years. For 2+2 headstock.

Does anyone here have experience with these?
I'm about to replace my machine heads and what I like about the graph techs is the idea of fairly quickly doing a drop tune, like Drop D or a half-step down tune. Just learning bass, but I already came across songs that use both tunings.
In theory...
Hi,
Does anyone know where I might find some original machine heads for my Aria Pro ii SB 700, I'm pretty sure that it's a 1981 Matsumoku from the information on this board (thanks).
I know that I can find something to fit and that aria have a set "AT-350 B L2:R2" on their site but they do not...
I received a set of four hipshot hb 3 tuners yesterday, the pre cbs style ones.
3 turn with a decent amount of resistance while 1 is a lot easier to turn, it feels like it has half the resistance of the others. I don't have the neck that I will install them on yet to test them properly. Does...
A word of warning to anyone who has a set of the ever-so-lovely Grover 142 tuners and wants to fit them to a Stingray - they are not reversible. I did some research and came up with differing opinions (as is the usual case) so decided to try and reverse one of the tuners that I'd taken from my...
I have three great condition Velve Tune BII tuners a Roadstar II RB-950.
Two bass side, one treble.
Price is for each, but make an offer if you want all three.
Alternatively, if you have a busted Velve Tune BII that you don't need, I am looking for a string post. Don't care about the housing...

Hi there.
I just found out that two basses i own have the same issue with fender style machine heads. Both are under warranty and things are being handled, but out of interest, i tried to find out if anyone had similar problems and could not find any here on TB.
Here is a link to my youtube...
G-men,ladies,
I'm looking to shave some weight from my 2014 Gibson SG Special bass. (Serious head dive) Can anyone recommend quality, lightweight tuning pegs that will "drop in" without modification?
Thank you in advance for any input.

I’m looking to build my own bass using parts from Warmoth.
There are a lot of different options out there for tuners, so I’m not sure which I should get. I don’t care too much about weight. Neck dive doesn’t bother me, as I don’t really let my hands go very far from the neck when I play, and I...

Fender USA Jazz/Precision Tuners for my 2008 American Std Precision.
I need just TWO of these tuners, but would consider a whole set if you don't want to split them up.
Hi there!
I have a Ukulele Acoustic Bass. One of the machine heads died and I need to replace the set.
What I'm worried about is which machine heads to buy. I saw some on amazon but they look very different to the ones I have! Any advice would be appreciated!!! :)

Hi.
I recently acquired a 1987 BB3000. The sound is amazing but the hardware is a bit worn, especially the threads on the Machine heads.
I have looked for replacement machine heads but found non that maintains the look. I have concidered changing them to similar ones from Schaller (M40 90) or...
I recently switched the hardware back to the original black on my Spector Forte 5 so I've got a chrome USA Spector 5 string bridge with the intonation screws for sale. This is the standard spacing bridge, not the ``wide`` 5 bridge, FYI.
The bridge is in near new condition, the only wear is on...

I have a 1981 greco supersound precision bass and it is quite neck heavy. I would like to install gotoh resolite gb528 tuner on this bass but I`m not sure...
My bass headstock has holes about 17..18 mm, but gb528 bushings are 16 mm. Can I still use this tuners? Maybe I could put some tape...
My SR506 has some neck dive so I'm considering replacing the tuning machines with some Hipshot Ultralite.
Any idea whether the stock Ibanez tuners are significantly heavier than the Ultralights? By "significantly" I mean shaving at least 1/2 a pound off the weight.
