¼ inch jack plugs?

They make the 1/4 inch jack plugs, so obviously people use them. Why some on this thread are upset someone else wants them is funny/ridiculous. Maybe he wants to use jack plugs and use an amp cover when not in use, you do you and why worry about the other person, it's not like you'd do what others want you to do either.
I'm now tempted to buy some jack plugs just to offend people LOL
Silly stuff.

Funny/ridiculous thread is correct but not the way you mean it, I suspect.
OP asked for advice, and since this is TB recieved pertinent replies but decides he doesn't like the concensus.
Oh well, stick around for Gold comedy...
imv, of course.

Just because you don't want to use them or don't see a need, no need for snarky replies that are hardly pertinent.
I'm looking for comedy but it's more like poop than gold. Peace.

He asked for answers and got them. I read the whole thread so far and didn't see anybody getting upset about it.

I throw a black satin 6x6 foot square of cloth (bought when I was a young hippie as curtains ..lol ) over my entire rig after every practice, at home in storage or after gigs( when the rig is stationary for more than a day). Seems to work for me dust-wise. Our guitarist started doing it too.

never use standard RTV on electronics, the acetic acid can damage the contact plating. There are specialty products but not commonly available.

If that’s true, nothing is going to help. Same for rodeo events, those who have worked these event know exactly what I mean,

I played a rodeo gig and was astounded at the amount of cr*p that ended up covering my gear (and clothes). Dirtiest gig (at least in terms of dust ;)) that I have ever done. Just walking from the gate to set up on stage near center arena was a horrible mess. And that was with using a 3/4” plywood temporary walkway set up from the gate to the stage. After the gig, I had to wipe/clean/vacuum every single piece of gear, even stuff I didn’t use but was in the area. Black boots turned light tan, black pants and shirt looked like I sprinkled baby powder all over myself. I suppose a watering truck would have helped but we didn’t get that luxury that night.

Imagine that after say 30 days and a 24’ truck full of gear… it’s all part of the maintenance and is built into the pricing.

Really folks, the OP asks a question, a few people respond with useful answers and quite a few others chime in to tell him/her that their request isn't reasonable?

Look again at post #11 in this thread by @charliethomas. I bought ten plugs that look exactly like those, from someone on eBay years ago for use on my pedalboard. It's likely that they'd bought a wholesale quantity of them and was selling smaller numbers of them to individual users.

One of my teachers (Kerby Stewart Obituary (2008) - Dallas, TX - Dallas Morning News) used to play the Dallas Rodeo every year. He said that after those two weeks of nightly gigs, he'd have to thoroughly clean all the 'powdered dung' off his bass. Said it'd get absolutely filthy. But the gig paid well.
He also said that the Dallas Rodeo reused the dirt each year. They'd pick it up with heavy machinery and store it until next year. So you weren't getting just the dried feces and urine from this year, but from previous years as well. Ugh.

I think he received a lot of helpful and useful information, including that in most cases plugging the jacks won't make ANY difference (especially if there is a fan or any ventilation vents on the amp).
