$1000 to spend on a cab

For ~1K you can get an Ampeg 610HLF (110 lbs), a GK Neo 412 (96 lbs) or an Ampeg Heritage 410HLF (76 lbs).
Go big! Find used high speaker count cabs for under $250 and get as many as you can. Then snicker every time the guitarists make eye contact.
Seriously though, a Berg never hurt anyone. Could probably put together a pair of Fearful 12s for about that much too. Lots to choose from whatever your preference is.

You'll likely need more than a 210 or a 212 like a lot of people are suggesting. I'd look at the GK Neo 412. Talk about HUGE LOUD TONE.

With that you could definitely get by with a well made 2x12 like a Mesa PH 212. At least, I've never gone past 11:30 on the volume knob on my GK700RBII in a band setting quite similar. And that's if everyone is deafening. Assuming the Aggy can hold its own, I would recommend the Mesa, I hear GK 212s are good, and the Genzler Magellan 212 I'd imagine is good.
If you notice a trend, I just dig 212 designs. You can always substitute in a 410 or 610. Buy used and you might be able to score 2 cabs for 1K if you happen to need to push more air.
+1 with all the 212 suggestions, Berg at the top of the list.
But if you're going modular, go for the 2 210's stacked vertically. Half a fridge right there, easy to schlep. A little tougher to stay in budget, but Avatar is way underrated imo and will get you pretty close.

I think a pair of Carvin BRX 10.4 cabinets is pretty worth considering or a BRX 10.2 / 10.4 stack. Either option is less than 1K before shipping. I hear you can pay extra for them to build them with neodymium speakers like they used to.
Another vote for the Barefaced 410 at the intro price while it lasts. It's gonna get bigger soon. I love my Two10.

Any production 410 should be enough. I'm a fan of Gk. With your budget go for the RBH series.
