$1400 to spend on a loud rock rig

You can always find help. Too many people think of problems with larger cabs though I find it the new way of thinking. Generally people are thinking "lazy". (no offense personally)

EDIT: Actually, I just found out that Peavey has halted manufacturing of this head and is no longer available due to issues they were having with the class D amp section.

They're okay. I've played through a few of 'em, and have owned it's daddy the 350h for a decade or so as a backup. In my experience, they run out of headroom pretty quick at gig volumes, but when pushed to clipping they do sound more musical than most SS heads. The aforementioned GK and Hartke heads are more amp for the money IMO.

Hey guys, I basically decided on getting a used Ampeg 810E online in the guitar center used section (gonna find one that will ship it to me) and also an Ampeg SVT450H (hopefully will find it used. found one actually not too long ago on guitar center's used section)

many reviewers say that the SVT450H has plenty of headroom when played through an 8x10, so i'm going for it in late november.

I wouldn't go after an 810 at GC, you'll probably pay way more than you need to. Look up your local craigslist, and don't pay a dime over 500 for one. Time will tell as far as the 450H, but if you're buying used, you'll at least get most of your money back if you decide to sell it. Good luck on your quest.

ahh true about the 810. im actually waiting on that. if i cant find one locally, i'll have to buy it on GC used.

Don't know if your interested but this rig is for sale.

This Stack is in immaculate condition, used only a handful of times. I am the original owner and take excellent care of my equipment. This setup consists of a 3620 bass enclosure, a powered BH500 2X10 for biamping the 10" scorpions, and a Mark IV head to power the Black Widow 18's. Awesome sound, crazy loud!
