15" 16 ohm Speaker Options?

Unless you "round-oriented" guys can present something with more than 6" diameter you are not going to beat what is already there as far as air velocity is concerned.

From the front edge of the baffle to the inside back wall what is the distance?

EDIT: OK, so you have 9" to work with. You don't need to do an angle.

slot port would be better for air velocity, but i figured the round port would be an easier retrofit, but i have no idea how handy you are. i also thought it would take up quite less internal volume, but i will defer to greenboy on this one as he has more experience with speaker building.

Yep. You might build it longer yet - like to (' or whatever is 3" from the internal back wall , and then saw it back bit by bit while auditioning. One way it to screw into it from the front baffle (predrill always!) making sue you are hitting the center of each panel, then glue. OR you can build a flange and do it all from the back. You can even brace it or use a standoff from the bottom.

Don't know if you got your speakers yet but I purchased a pair of them 16 ohm a few months back to install in a SUNN 215b. The speakers are visually stunning and high quality. I did have to enlarge the opening on the baffle a bit which was a pain to get them into the cab but once I did I was pleasantly surprised. They have a very warm character but still retain plenty of definition and ample high end for rock/ blues etc... They are also plenty efficient but that is probably largely due to the design of the cab with its hornish design. I'm running them either with a HIWATT DR201 200watt tube head or an Ashdown ABM900 EvoII. Usually using a fender jazz. Lovely burpy bridge pickup tone and lots of growl and all. All the characteristic tones of the bass are well preserved/ enhanced. It pumps out plenty of lows and doesn't fart out on a low B so the specs are probably close to accurate regarding their Fs Xmax etc... For $30 each + about $35 shipping for both they are an unbeatable deal as long as they last...:)
