Any suggestions on a 15" cabinet that isn't huge? I can barely fit the one I have in my car. are bag end any good? any other suggestions?

15" cab suggestions

Recently picked up a Bad End S15-D here on talkbass. I have to say I'm very happy. Fits in the front and back seat of my 2 door. Easy to carry and sounds great. Weighs in around 40 pounds. Have a very even clear sound. Have gotten lots of complements on my sound since getting my Bag End.

Check out the Bergantino HT115. You'll have to look in the used market as they're out of production, but they're great cabs and there are usually a few around.
Not quite what you asked for, but worth the time reading the part 2 thread, and the first and last couple of pages of the Part 1 thread.

we see a lot of posts for cab recommendations.
most know the name brands that are tops: Berg, EA, Eden, Ampeg, Epi, BagEnd, Genz-Benz, etc.
few newbies know the sonic differences (as Bongo would say....Search!!), but that's what talkbass is for...you've got cats here that have tried EVERY speaker (Tom Bolus), and have taken the time to post their impressions.
even fewer actually look at specs. how can one recommend a cab if no one knows how much wattage you're pumping. then, add in what you're actually looking for from a cab, frequency-wise, which can vary much size to size. then add in speaker sensitivity and impedence to match to what you may already have or plan on getting (matching a 93db sensitive 15" with a 102db 2X10" and the 10's will sound louder at the same volume....= mismatched volume (which can be bad or good, depending on what you want).
have you checked the stickies....more than you could ever want to know about speakers.
much more productive than asking everyone "what's your favorite ice cream flavor".

Well, the OP did specifically ask if Bag End were any good, and also seemed to only want a stand alone 15" With a 103db rating, 50-4khz frequency response, 45 lb weight and 400 watt rating, the Bag End makes an excellent choice for a stand alone 15" speaker if you want something to fit in the front seat of your car and help you punch through the mix.
thanks for the input. Will the bag end cab's function properly running out of a carvin r600 bridged sending 4ohm's at 400watts?
The Bag End is only 8 ohms. That being said, the high sensitivity of the cab yields a higher perceived volume. My S-15 sounds very loud when powered by a 200 watt amp, and deadly when I bridge at 560 watts. The Carvin bridged into the Bag End should provide with a very gig-able set up. You can always add a second S-15 to get the full 4 ohms and still have a very compact, portable and LOUD rig.

You may want to check out my 1x15 shootout. The Mini15 is the smallest of the group, but the older Trace 1503 is pretty compact, not too heavy, and an incredible performer, IMHO. Of course, the HT115 is a tried and true, as well, but to be honest, a number of those 1x15's performed very well, I think.

I just bought myself a powerhouse 1x15 yesterday after spending quite some time trying set ups!

+1...I think these Mesa Powerhouse 1x15 cabs are great sounding 15's...I have one and love it...I would really like to add a secondone one someday...not that I need it...lol
My advice is ditch the 15" and go for a 1x12". You'll be surprised at the tone!
My small stack is 2 - Bergantino HT112's. More than enough volume to compete with 2 guitars and a loud drummer on stage. I play 5 string and the low B comes out just fine.
