15" Driver's (1 x 15 Cabs)

I'll give my views on a 1x15 driver, I currently use a Electro-Voice EVM 15B in a Spec built tl-606 cabinet ( EV published these plans years ago and they are still readly available for down load ) and I've like the full open sound ... the JbL- 140 e is a great speaker and should be mounted in a proper box ..... the point is all speakers can sound good, great, poor, nasty ... it all depends on the tuning of the box

I have the new Trace 2x10 and 1x15. They sound really good, and I finally dialed in the GK to sound good with them. I feel like they break up a liitle bit compared to ampeg 6x10, but that's the only other cab I can compare them to besides an avatar neo 4x10. The avatar couldn't handle the power, The ampeg was too clean sounding. Trace is just perfect.

There isn't a single review on the whole net that reviews the new Trace cabs, I've searched plenty.

I know...It's so weird eh?
Other than Bass Player magazine and Bass Guitar reviews, brief that they were.
Tom Bowlus reviews the new small 15 in his blog shootout

I have an ancient cab (35+ yrs old - built by me and the drummer when I was in school). Very very heavy and very big. I just need to replace the driver and wiring. The only times I'd play out with it is when my 212 Epi doesn't quite fill out the bottom end in a biggish room. There are no ports yet, but I can handle that I think. So, gotta find a driver and make the best match to the box, and learn how to tune the box.
