Me too. But it does make more sense than plugging a bass guitar and badarse rig into a guitar cab.Yup!

FYI: The OP stated that they’re using a guitar in Post #8.I didn’t get that from the OP.
Fyi: lots of people say 'guitar' when they are talking about their bass guitar. It is yet to be confirmed by OP either way. I agree that that most of us type bass, probably because it's easier to type and that works in the bass guitar forums. In the Double Bass section you better type BG or EUB if you want to be understood not to be referring to a bass.FYI: The OP stated that they’re using a guitar in Post #8.
Then what the heck is he doing in a BASS forum?
Running your amp into a 16 ohm load, you should expect in the neighborhood of 175-watts, which is really pushing it for use with a single 80-watt speaker. It's more than twice the power the speaker can handle and would be pretty easy to blow it if your not REALLY careful. Was curious if it's damaging at all to the SVT4 Pro (or to a cab) to run a Sansamp guitar preamp pedal into the poweramp section and then out to a 16ohm 1x12 cab with an 80w speaker. The amp can handle as low as 2 ohms, but only lists power stats up to 8 ohms in the manual.
Assuming going higher in this instance would be ok, just not lower than 2, right? The manual says it'd be 350W at 8 ohms using power amp section A or B of the amp.
Given the context (16 ohm speaker cabinet, guitar preamp, use of ‘guitar’ rather than ‘bass’) I’d happily place bets on the OP referring to a guitar, not a bass guitar. It’s not a guarantee, but it’s a more than reasonable assumption given what’s been stated.Fyi: lots of people say 'guitar' when they are talking about their bass guitar
I play guitar, too. Pffft on the "Bass Only" whinersYes, it's a guitar I'm referring to. Sorry, for the confusion and apologies if posting a question in that vein is forbidden in the rules somewhere.
