1957 Fender P on CL

Make and offer of $300. Point out that you can get a new shiny one for as much money and it won't be all old and rancid and scratched up. :D

Seems a strange move to try and flip some vintage kit like that on CL with only a few shoddy photographs.

just looks like a road worn to me. i realise it might be a old one at that price but the pics arent clear and i see none of the real tell tale of the bass aka THE NECK STAMP

'57 would be a penciled date - the stamps weren't until later. Regardless, all the tell-tale details can be (and often are) faked -- though that one looks most likely correct.

Yikes! Looks like it is in great shape. Not sure about the price...seems pretty high...but nice bass...tons of mojo.

there is no fender worth that kind of money all they are is a CNC machined block of wood with car paint. for that kind of money I would rather buy a killer double bass.

While they wouldn't have been CNCd in 1957 I pretty much agree. I paid $1,800 for a killer '58 P and thought that was a lot at the time.

edit: John beat me too it. +arguing about the vintage stuff is much like arguing about art - some people are willing to pay more for something than what others may (rightly or wrongly) assign as the intrinsic value.
