1962 Fender Jazz. Fact or Fiction?

Well, they didn't start on January 1, 1962 with the VVT. There are "many" 62's that had the VT VT

and by many I mean some...

and by some I mean it's possible...

Obviously my statement was a generalization, but the guy I was responding to stated it was not a '62 because it didn't have stack knobs which is basically wrong. MOST '62's were 3 knob. Also the bass pictured is a laminate board making it a late '62(or maybe an early '63). I have never seen a stack knob laminate board, but not saying they don't exist.
