1964 Ears Owners Group

Took advantage of the 20% Black Friday special and ordered the V6 Stage. I will get my impressions next week and the wait starts.
Cool.. been considering upgrading to the V8's.. but not sure the diff between them and the Qi's (which I already have) is worth it, even with 20% discount... I've got a few hours to decide :)

I just tried ordering with payment via paypal. The order page is screwed up. Click 'Pay with Paypal' and nothing happens. Click it again and a warning message comes up saying that a purchase is already in progress. Their website sucks. If I try to modify an item in my cart I get sent to pages that have menus but no content. (And of course no customer service at this time.) I am going to try again using a CC. I say if you are going to have a web-based store-front, make sure it works!!

I looked at the V8 model but thought the V6 would work fine for me. I think the V8 would give you the ability to listen to mp3s with real clarity.

I paid with Credit Card using the FireFox Browser and had no issue at all. I would contact them and let them know the issue you had using PayPal, there is the possibility others ran into the same problem. You may be able to get them to send you a PayPal Invoice for your order. Doing it that way you are sending them money just as you would to anyone.

I just ordered the A8 yesterday. I currently use Alien Ears C3 and I have no major complaints with them. I'm pretty sure these 1964's are going to be a major improvement though. Here's a preview of what I'm getting.

One thing I noticed, they really cut down the amount of options on the V6s. Here is what I ordered.

I ordered A4's on Friday! I already had impressions done months ago, I was just waiting for a good deal! I actually sent my impressions in before I ordered my ears. Hopefully, that gets me closer to the five week range, rather than the eight week timeframe. I just ordered the new translucent charcoal color. Can't wait!

i should have ordered for black Friday. Now i guess i have to wait another year, im in no rush, i really don't need them. Its just something to have for me. I will order some A12, im just waiting on another 20% discount. Oh well, now I have time to save up for them.

This gets a bit lengthy so this is part 1 of 2.

I ordered the V6s back in August. I don't play out a whole lot and these will serve split duty for 60% audio production as well as 40% bass playing. Hopefully soon in the future I can adjust that balance towards more bass.

My thoughts on getting the V6s model was I wanted something very neutral sounding that didn't feel very heavily emphasized in one region or another. At one point I considered paying a bit more for A3's but ultimately chose to keep the order as I originally placed it.

I had a bear of a time with a busy day job and family schedule getting free time for impressions to be made. The first set was rejected because of a multitude of issues due to the "audiologist" being lazy with reading and interpreting the recommended guidelines for impressions. After finding a second audiologist that was way more professional in attitude and business practice I had an acceptable set of impressions.

Part 2 coming either this afternoon or Monday.

Well, listening to a friend's review of his A4's and the less fatigue compared to his Quads, I talked to the people at 64 Audio and switched from the V6s to the A4. First set of impressions were rejected for some little voids on the second bend so I had to get new impressions which were accepted on 12/11.

I have been using the M-Audio IE-10 IEMs for a few years and can't wait for the A4's to get here.
