1964 Ears Owners Group

That stinks! Mine are at the Graphics Applied stage so I am hoping they can get buffed, QC'd and shipped no later than Wednesday. There is nothing more irritating to have something sit over the weekend at the distribution center. I remember checking the status on a bass and FedEx listed it as out for delivery on a Saturday so I stayed around the house all day and it never came so around 5 p.m. I called FedEx CS and they informed me it was an error and wouldn't be delivered until Monday. I was having my tirade with the person in CS when my wife, like yours said it wasn't the end of the world. I said, well, it could be. I could die in my sleep tonight and never get the chance to play it. She just shook her head.
Lol. You had a valid point :)

While Fedex is my preferred shipper, this is an odd practice of theirs. I've tracked a package to my town and see it arrive as much as 2 days earlier than the scheduled delivery date. A trailer with packages will actually sit on the lot until they decide to open it and distribute the package.

"Well, can't you just open the trailer and grab my package"? According to the lady at the desk who has been so helpful over the years and whom I've grown to consider a good friend, they can't just break away someone to go into the trailer and get one package. Which I get. She's even tried to close her desk for a sec and run out to the trailer, but her supervisor, who's a very nice lady, too, said she would start something she couldn't finish if that were allowed to happen. So at least they tried. The only bad experience was with a Fedex contractor (basically a guy in a van with a Fedex magnetic sign on the door) who just plain out decided to not deliver my package and say no one was home. At 7:30pm, I called the office and left them know that I was indeed home and sitting on the porch. Whaddya know, my package was delivered in 40 minutes with apologies!

As weird as it is at times, this is part of the system that lets them get packages across the country in a day and around the world in two and half to three days (for a fee, of course...:greedy:). it ain't perfect....The End...

I'll jump on the FedEx dislike bandwagon. Mine shipped on Thursday evening, scheduled for 2 day AM delivery. If you count Friday as a holiday, then two business days is Tuesday, and that's when they are scheduled for delivery. I can get over the fact that in their eyes 5 = 2, but I got a notification that it's sitting at my local distribution center as of 7:30AM today with the message "At local FedEx facility - Package not due for delivery". So not only can I not go get them since I didn't pay overnight (glad I didn't since 4 = 1 in this case), but I get to sit here all day knowing they are five miles from me, sitting in a box. Cést la vie I suppose.

Man, that sucks, doesn't it?...I'm 8 miles from mine. Well, it is what it is. I just with they wouldn't list the delivery date, THEN show the tracking info where it says your package is sitting there, but you can't have it until tomorrow...

For future reference, just do a location hold as soon as you get your tracking number and you can avoid some of these issues. I expect the discomfort will disappear as soon as you hear your monitors and realize what you've been missing!

that's what I got. The cleaning tool, shirt clip and round sticker. 64 inch cable. Little disappointed I didn't get the old case. My name is engraved on the outside, in black, so its hard to see. A contrasting plaque of some sort would have been nice.

Anyone on here have any recommendations on an upgraded cable for the Adels? I've heard this can make a big improvement on sound. Not much else I can do for improving the sound quality when performing live(I run an Audio Technica M3), but I've ordered a USB DAC for my computer and phone when I listen to music outside of the gig.

You can head over to headfi.org if you are curious, but those guys are extreme. IMO, you shouldn't change your cable because you won't be able to hear the difference needed to justify the $200+ expense. If you're serious about getting better quality music, start with your music files. You've got a DAC on order, which is great, but if you're feeding it low sample rate files, it'll still sound like low sample rate files. The DAC is really just going to clean up the signal (no electronic interference/hiss) and provide some headroom (which your new IEM's will NOT need, unless you want busted ear drums and/or headaches). The cable is only really an issue if it fails, and these guys seem stout enough. I went down the path of portable DAC and I grew tired of carrying around an extra box that didn't really do anything for my ears, and that was before I got my CIEM's!

Then again, you might have a set of golden ears and can tell the difference between a stock cable and one of the custom cables. If so, headfi can probably provide your answers.

Bummer!!! 64 Audio left off part of my suite number so when FedEx came to deliver the package the label had suite 1 instead of 103 so they weren't delivered at 9am. I got a call from FedEx for an address correction but they couldn't tell me when they will be delivered.

Crazy Update!!!

I was able to track down the package from FedEx, opened up the box and they sent the wrong model. They sent V6s instead of the A4, paperwork got a little messed up. Anyway, customer service was supper nice and they are putting in a rush order to build the Adels which should ship next Wednesday. In the meantime they said to use the V6s. So I put on Beetoven's 5th and wow, what an amazing sound! I hear everything so clear and with so much separation, my old iems were such crap.
