Just what I posted earlier, my friend who has both says the bass sounds better on the A series and he says he has less ear fatigue. I currently have the V6s they made by mistake instead of the A4's. I used the V6s at church today and it was just amazing, the clarity and separation was phenomenal. I could hear every instrument perfect, the vocals were clear and acoustic guitar sounded good and most of all the bass sounded great. I can't wait until the A4's get here so I can see what the difference is between the two. Granted the V6s has two more speakers but I am curious to see how they compare. The big things I noticed, I was running at 1/2 the volume I had to use on my old IE-10 iems and the isolation was really good as well. I actually had to have the sound tech put drums in my mix (we have acoustic drums with a shield). I imagine with an Aviom system it would even sound better.

I've got the same questions but I can't imagine I'm really missing something with my Qis. Before I had the Qis I'd used other universal IEMs and over-the-ear cans and it was clear they were a compromise, it was obvious to me what could be improved. With my Qis I don't get that at all.

that's basically my thoughts.. yes, I use mine for other than live audio, but gigging frequently, I've got a pretty good IEM (stereo) mix going, low volume levels and no noticeable ear fatigue.
So basically.. other than the Adel technology, what am I getting for $400 more, and is it worth upgrading to more drivers.. that's the $1500 question :nailbiting:

EDIT: done some research (on head-fi dot org and other places) and the Ambrose tech looks to be pretty cool. Unfortunately, being 1/2 way across the country from Portland doesn't help me to "test drive" them, and U-fit simply don't work on my small canals. So IF I pony up the $$, it will be a leap of faith.
PS: looking forward to the comparison reviews..

TedH will be able to tell you the difference between the A3 and Qi here soon. Hopefully my A4's will be here and I will be able to give you my thoughts in comparing the A4 to the V6s. I am not sure if I would upgrade from the Quads if you are satisfied with what you are hearing I would keep what you have, it is not like you can sell them to someone else if you upgrade. If you are buying these for church, maybe they will allow you to claim the price as an addition to your tithe so you can claim the expense on your taxes.

Try a little lubricant on the tip of your ear or the tip of the IEM as it can feel it has a bit of an edge to it. You can use baby oil or [ahem] personal lubricant [ahem], which is effectively the same formulation as the Oto Ears lube. A little dab is all you need.

Thanks for the tip. I used some coconut butter and just put a drop on my ear canals, and they felt great all morning. I wore them for a total of about an hour. Thanks again!

Maybe.. did you read the part where Canyon says -
"But if you're going to have to tune them every time you put them in, to match the current barometric pressure, the membranes tension and your ears impedance, the clicking isn't going to really be super important. It's not a set & forget type situation."

.. and I posted (a yet unanswered) question back?

I would be curious to hear what the people testing the manual module have to say about them. I know a compressor or worbling type of sound would drive me crazy. I will be able to do a side to side comparison when the A4's get here as I will still have the V6s in my possession for at least a day or two, if we can work out a deal I will keep them as well. The V6s like your Qi's isolate really good, when the worship leader was talking I had to have him speak into the mic so I could here what he was saying and the heavy handed drummer was almost non-existent to the point I had to add some to my mix and I was only about 5' away. With my old M-Audio IEMs it was almost like having nothing in at all when it came to isolation and I would try to get as far as possible from the drummer. I would hate to return to a point where I am having to move way across the stage. The Adels give a -18db isolation.

My A4's were supposed to ship this Wednesday but considering they haven't printed them yet it may be next week and that is fine.

"the auto-tune module is great for playing live. I play drums with my U8s and they sound great. You don't get as much isolation as with traditional iems, but you get that open feeling that @Canyon Runner talks about and nothing beats that in my opinion. If you want more peace of mind, just look at the artists using the ADELs, who use the auto-tune. I bet the tunable module will give you more flexibility though, but just as they are, they sound fine to me. If I remember well, Beyonce's monitor engineer had input on having a auto-tune module, as when you have a band, and you have to mix for them all, you would prefer that they were all on the same monitor type and similar impedance. "

FWIW - I called 1964 today and the impressions I have on file are too old.
I'll need new ones done if I go with ANY new IEM's.

The GOOD news is that they are 3D imprinting all new "accepted" impressions so they'll be archived and available for much longer than the life of a normal impression.
