Don't worry, she has a great home with me!! If I ever have a moment of stupidity, I'll give you first dibs on her. She's an awesome bass, my friend.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but while we're on the subject of basses I should have held on to, I'll throw in my Peavey T-45 with Darkstar pickup....hmph. lol.
Here is my 1989 Foundation -- love it. I also have a white Foundation S.

I watched that one, as well. Looks like you got the dreaded poplar body. I would change that out to tulipwood right awayI don't know if any of you bidded on this one, but I won this Peavey Foundation in need of a rebuild on eBay.
I am probably going to sand it down a bit more.
What do you suggest I do? Custom crazy paint job? Natural oil finish? Solid color with nitro finish?
This thing is missing a few parts but I can probably replace them all, except maybe the string retainer.
What do you think?
I watched that one, as well. Looks like you got the dreaded poplar body. I would change that out to tulipwood right away. In reality, looks like 3 pieces of wood make up that body. I say crazy to custom crazy paint job. The world has enough natural basses and havn't we as a species denuded enough basses with our own hands? Paint that sucker. Its still gonna sound like a foundation, right?
EagleMoon, those sunbursts weigh a ton: they're maple.I'm a bit curious as to what other people's Foundations weigh. I weighed mine and it's real close to the 10 lb. mark. My Geddy jazz used to weigh that much but it had more wood. The Foundation seems to be really compact and dense. Like ironwood or something.![]()
