1980s Peavey Foundation appreciation thread

I got the T-40, T-20, T-45 avenues covered...as well as the Fury and B-90.

I don't know if any of you bidded on this one, but I won this Peavey Foundation in need of a rebuild on eBay.

I am probably going to sand it down a bit more.

What do you suggest I do? Custom crazy paint job? Natural oil finish? Solid color with nitro finish?

This thing is missing a few parts but I can probably replace them all, except maybe the string retainer.

What do you think?

I watched that one, as well. Looks like you got the dreaded poplar body. I would change that out to tulipwood right away:D. In reality, looks like 3 pieces of wood make up that body. I say crazy to custom crazy paint job. The world has enough natural basses and havn't we as a species denuded enough basses with our own hands? Paint that sucker. Its still gonna sound like a foundation, right?

I have still not received the bass. The seller shamelessly admitted he had been too lazy  I am not going to put the pressure, as he could flake and refund (I have seen that happen in the past).

My current Foundie too has the 3-piece poplar body.

I decided that my second build would be a new body for an existing neck, I may just do that with this one.

I'm a bit curious as to what other people's Foundations weigh. I weighed mine and it's real close to the 10 lb. mark. My Geddy jazz used to weigh that much but it had more wood. The Foundation seems to be really compact and dense. Like ironwood or something. :D

EagleMoon, those sunbursts weigh a ton: they're maple.
My Foundies go from light ( that ugly, dreaded poplar, wish it was tulipwood) to medium ( both my alder fretless and a mahogany body mapleneck) to ungodly (maple sunburst/maple neck)
