I traded this pretty 1990 SR1200 for it (retrofit with SR800 passives). Plus a few dollars. The Musician is lighter, believe it or not! We were both happy with the trade.

I already am! Playing along with some Police LPs. . I have the RS924 from the same year. I feel like I have the Ibanez version of the Precision and Jazz.

Btw, I picked up new strings for this bad boy! I’m going to enjoy it!

Excellent. It’s a nice, comfortable player — was my “open a beer and sit for hours in the studio and just jam” bass. That neck just felt comfortable and musical everywhere.

It was warm and complex in terms of tone with my preferred “dead rotos” but I’m sure it will open up really nicely with freshies on.

Wish I could hear it wailed on with some cracking new strings.

Only a Musician would have inspired a trade!

Same. Mine is an ‘85 in white. It lives at church and always sounds great any time we do a praise band thing.

Those are some of my favorite pickups ever. I'm 95% a flatwounds guy, but a bass with these pickups and some nice rounds is a thing of beauty. Congrats!
