1987 Peavey Fury value? Nostalgia vs. Function

I get nostalgia....I fall victim to it myself on numerous occasions. But reality most often brings me back from the clouds in short order.
A Fury? Any generation.... $325 tops. IMO of course.

I dropped $500 on a red one in good condition. Part of that was $$ burning a hole in my pocket and not wanting to wait for another one to come up. Part of that was for nostalgia. If you can afford it, it's in the color you want and good or better condition, go for it. Try to negotiate down a bit if you can, but like @MD-BassPlayer said, what will you miss more a year from now?
$60. I would wait and be patient. Guitar center gets them used a lot for under $300, and $199 a fair amount.
In my opinion - no way ! That price is way out of line ! I have tried to buy my old 1986 Foundation back from a friend. It has a bad neck, and he still wants $275 for it ! Cannot justify it !
I owned a first generation Fury in the late 80s. I wouldn't say it is a bad bass, but $575 seems really high to me. I would think $200 - $250 would be a fair price.
I picked up a NOS 90's Fury, with hang tag no less, for $200 and they threw in a chainsaw case (that had seen better days) Not first Gen/Slant SF -
I bought my first gen (slant pickup) Fury for $300 plus shipping off of reverb, I bought my second gen split pickup for $160 with a Fender RAD bass practice amp, I bought my first third gen split pickup for $100, and my second one for $125. All bought since 2017.

great playing, great sounding basses for not a ton of cash. IMHO The seller wants too much for that first gen.

If it was a Fender, they'd be calling it vintage and asking twice as much. 
Way too much. There will be another along in day or two.
This one just hit your button, but up until the moment you saw it, you probably hadn’t thought “Fury” in ages.
It’ll be a better story when you score one for $125. Start hunting.
Now, if it was a NOS Cirrus, under $600, that would be a different story.
The older USA Peavey basses are enjoying a surge in popularity and prices are rising. But a Fury is still to be had for $300 or possibly much less.

I was able to grab a couple of pics. I actually still have my original case. It's a bit beat up, but it's functional. Sitting empty.
My two Fury's. Both were pawn shop finds. The blue one for $50 & the white one for $75. Keep looking you can still find some good deals
