1x15 standalone cab?

I'm extremely happy with my Carvin RL 115, it's monstrously phat and warm. I've used it stand alone with my SVT, and it sounds incredible. I don't even need the tweeter on. I don't hear any type of "sluggishness" with the 15" speaker's response...
It seems they only offer the BR 115 in Neo, no more conventional-magent speaker.

That's not true. The EV plans were based on known science that others were also using at the time - some with shelf-style porting and some with tubes. Today, good designers are still using Thiele-Small parameters... and as such, if the ports are shelfs instead of tubes, there will be some superficial resemblance to cabs built exactly around EV's plans. But that is all it is - a superficial resemblance.

I've been using an Eden D115 for about 15 years now, and you couldn't pry that cab out of my cold dead hands. It is a fabulous sounding speaker cabinet, clean clear deep but punchy...if I can only bring one cabinet to a gig (and it needs more output than my dedicated "portable" cabs) that's the one I want to bring.

Although I really want two of them... :)

I'm pretty sure the current Eden 1x15" is a different cabinet design and uses a different driver, so no idea how they compare.

Here is a link to that old 1x15 Shootout. Like most of my shootouts, it needs to be updated. I would love to get one of Greenboy's designs in there, as well as the new Reeves 1x15, the new Epifani DIST 1x15, and several more.

Heh, not really fair to compare a fEarful 15/6 to the other 15s. Pretty sure all you'd get recorded is the sound of the other cabs crying, and possibly the patter of feet as they run for cover.

This the most musical speaker I have ever heard. As with most speakers, you must break them in for a day or two to get rid of the some harsh tightness that comes with new speakers.

The GK neo 115 III is VERY musical with an even volume throughout the whole frequency range. Rated at 400 watt rms and only 40 lbs.

It's so good that I plan on adding another to my first so i'll have a 2x15 stack with two seperate cabs and a 1001rbII.

Markbass sounded very dull/nonharmonic and musical in comparison. Some may interpret this as warm but warm has to sound very musical to me not just a dulling of frequencies.

I have one of these and am totally happy with it. The tone is traditional SWR 1X15 yet it is light and easy to move. It is also very loud.

I like GK a lot too, in general. Bummer that the Neo 115 is not available in a 4 ohm configuration. My thought would be that most of us may want to pair it with a micro amp to get a super portable, super tight little rig. None of the micros I've tried push hard enough at 8 ohms.

I have two GK MBE-III combos. What are the best extension cabs to get for them? Would the GK112mbx be enough for a decent gain in volume?

Sorry for veering off topic.
