2 1x15's or 1 6x10?

Anyone have any experience with the mesa boogie powerhouse cabs? I' thinking best of both world', 1x15 and a 2x10.

Just about to post something simmiler. any brand 1x15 then add 2x10 i have an Ashdown 300w 1 x 15 combo and added a 4 x 12 to it, but thinking of downsizing to a 2 x 10, great rig but just overkill for my use.
my understanding on this whole debate was that you get a big boomy low end with a large single speaker but loos a bit of clarity in mids and highs, so by adding a 4 or two smaller speaker you regain that. vice versa if you have 4 x speakers you loose a bit of low end. From my experienced as well by switching between cabs whilst playing i do find this to be true, certainly audibly her the low end drop slightly when unplugging the 15.

I run a Hartke HyDrive HD410 in conjunction with an out of production Trace-Elliot sound reinforcement cabinet with 10x1 + 18x1 speakers both driven by a Hartke LH1000.

10" and 18" inch speakers reproduce bass frequencies best IMHO.

I use to use a Sun 2x15 folded horn cabinet and i couldn't reproduce the low low end. But then again it was only driven by a 100 watt Sunn C-MOS Beta Bass solid state amp.

IMHO if you want real portability and great sound look into the Fender Rumble series. I have the 100 watt combo.

According to my ear since I've used both for live performance I prefer the 10" speakers over the 15"s, it just seems to be a fuller sound to me. But that is just MHO. : )
