Two Notes Crew,

Question: I just sold my C.A.B. M+ to purchase the new OPUS.

I just happened to go back to your "Black Friday" sale that ends to day on your site. I grabbed the following discounted IR's from the catalog that goes directly to my license/account.

Noise Factory Brit70 412 RolaGreen $6.50 NEW
(Marshall Bass 4x12" - angled) ReVolt #2 Channel

MESA Standard PowerHouse 2x15 $6.50 NEW
(MESA Engineering produced) 70' B'man C4 Synth

OCBass410 $6.50
Form Factor Audio Compression Drivers #3 Channel

Bommel Peggy 810 Mothership $6.50 NEW
EMINENCE Legend B810 ReVolt #1 Channel SVT
Bommel20Peggy2081020Mothership-front-1024x894.jpg

If my license is associated with the C.A.B. M+ that is now gone. When I receive my new OPUS how to I associate my IR's to the new device?

Thanks!

Hi @PhatBottomBass1,

Amazing news! We'd love to see some pictures of your rig with OPUS when it arrives! :)

So any DynIR you purchase will be associated with your Two notes account so you can use these with any Two notes hardware product that's registered on your Two notes account! Let us know how you get on

Thanks,

I figured when I sign-in it will allow me to associate/register a new device. There will, of course, be a bunch of new stuff cabinet wise with the OPUS, too.

Hi to all !!

I've just bought the new Opus top replace my CABM+ into my pedalboard: it sits just after the RevoltBass and I like to hear from you guys and from TwoNotes what would be the best way to integrate it with the Revolt.

What I'd like to do for sure would be to change Opus preset switching channel in the Revolt: the idea is to assign a different preset to each channel to match the sound and also use the PostEQ to tailor the sound accordingly.

Also, I'd like to have a 4th preset to be activated in the Opus when I bypass the Revolt: this way I can also exploit the TSM Preamp on the Opus as a fourth sound in my pedalboard accessible via footswitch.
Any suggestion on the best way to do that? Until now I never used the MIDI features of the Revolt.

Another thing that I'd like to do is to integrate the Opus on my signal chain also in a live setup using the dual mono routing. The idea is to have on the Opus DI the full signal processing comprising also the cab sim while on the jack output bypass the cab sim; I've got 2 questions about this however:
- will the TRS output bring noise problems in going out into a mono cable to the amplifier Return?
- if I want to bypass the cab sim I'll loose also the PostEQ? I would have liked to use these to compensate for the missing mid controls on the Revolt Bass.

Now I'm using the Revolt Bass in 4-wires mode to use the amp preamp as 4th sound; do I need to revert to normal wiring to do this?

Please let me know your toughts and suggestions !! I'll receive the Opus today or tomorrow and post some pictures of my updated pedalboard, I need to set it up correctly before Thursday to bring it to my next rehearsal !

Thanks to all for the attention and in advance for your advice !!

Ale

Hi @james81bong

Thanks so much for your post and great to hear!

Regarding the setup you wish to do with Opus and ReVolt:
  • Yes you can use ReVolt to switch Opus's presets
  • Assigning PC messages to be sent from ReVolt to another device is done through the MIDI PC NUMBER page in the SETUP menu of the pedal. Here is the MIDI section of the ReVolt's manual: revolt_bass:revolt_bass_user_s_manual [User's manuals] .
  • You will be able to send 4 different PC messages from ReVolt to Opus (one per channel, and an additional one for the bypass mode of ReVolt).
Regarding the DUAL MONO routing of OPUS:
  • Using the LINE output of OPUS to connect to the amp's effects return should not yield noise. However, this is dependent on your global setup, and how everything is powered (grounded or non grounded power supplies, etc.). You can use an unbalanced cable to do this connection. To avoid other unwanted noise, you need to keep the cable's length under 20 feet.
  • If you set the LINE OUT ROUTING to "AFTER TSM AMPLIFIER" you will not have the cab sim applied to the signal going out of the LINE output, but you will not have any of the post effects either (including the EQ).
For the 4CM wiring, including OPUS:
  • The 4th tone being given by the amp, you might not need to use OPUS as an additional amp tone. In that case, keep ReVolt connected to the amp in 4CM, place OPUS after the DI (XLR) output of ReVolt and deactivate the cab sim in ReVolt. OPUS will deliver the cabinet simulation and post effects to the ReVolt's and amp's channel tones for the signal going to the FOH.
Let us know how you get on when it arrives and if you have any other questions!

Thanks for the answers Amy,

I've received a few hours ago the new Opus and digging into it, however I've got an issue with the presets:

I tried to create multiple presets with different cabinets (both on Windows and Android), but it only keep the last cambinet I've used for all presets regardless of the one I saved for the specific preset.

I've already updated to latest Remote software and latest firmware also did a factory reset for good practice but the problem is still there. I've tried to import presets from my CABM+ as well as create new presets from scratch but no luck.

Please help me sort this out !!

Hi @james81bong,

Thank you for the response! At this stage, Preset import (created with C.A.B. M+) may prove a little tricky as the OPUS preamps have all be re-voiced and the EQ Post FX tweaked. Please get in touch with our Helpdesk with regards to the cabinet not saving and one of our specialists can have a look in to this for you!

Looking forward to hearing more thoughts from folks who have purchased the Opus, and how they're getting on with it!

For me, I'll be happy sticking with the C.A.B M+, since I'm really only using it for the cab sim functionality. The tube power section sounds pretty solid; I have a couple of presets loaded with those nice and cranked for a little "amp" distortion if/when I pick up a RAWK gig, but otherwise my needs are pretty simple.

OK I've got it sorted out myself: the ones not sticking were exceeding the 32nd cabinet.

Hi All, yes unfortunately our post was removed, but don't worry - we are here and will answer any questions!

Questions, you say? So glad you mentioned it! Can you advise if there plans to incorporate any additional bass-specific preamp models in the aforementioned firmware upgrades? (If not, please consider this a polite nudge to consider doing so ;) )

I was just going to snag a used CAB M, but that MIDI has me curious. I really only need the cab sim part. Black does look so much cooler though...
I was thinking the same thing.

I got what I had in my C.A.B. M+, (the OPUS reminds me of my old Black Infinity G37X Coupe!), it is more flexible and updatable and with the Midi connectivity makes the cab sim IR's more flexible, too, with the ReVolt. There are features that I will not use, but with zero additional out of pocket,

...It just made sense for me to grab the OPUS. :cigar:

That said, the C.A.B. M+ is perfect for what it does!
