I think lots more people use alchohol responsibly as well. So much for the accuracy of this poll.

Ad no one bats an eye with alcohol in the US when compared to lighting up, evidenced by the last thread. That's what we call 'conditioning' by the tavern and alcohol lobbyMy point is that the fact that more people abuse alcohol than other drugs is primarily due to the fact that it is more accessible, not that it is worse than other drugs. It is a common argument by some here, especially when marijuana is brought up.

true dat. alcohol, for centuries, has been and is the drug of choice for the privileged elite. that's a hard draw to resist for the 'common man' that identifies with the privileged elite.
Privileged elite? I guess you haven't been watching many beer commercials. Never mind cocaine a "common folk" drug...
Nobody bats an eye? What do you call all the lowering of DUI standards and stops on roads? The fact is one is legal and one is illegal....
it's okay. it's a "trickle-down" that goes back centuries. think of the lobbyists in the state and federal governments. there are more examples, but alcohol trumps all.
edit: in this context you provide, i would nominate "meth" as the "common folk" drug.
Lowering of BAC levels doesn't require abstinence. One can have a drink an hour and still be below legal limits in most situations. But I am in support of total sober driving, BAC 0%.Nobody bats an eye? What do you call all the lowering of DUI standards and stops on roads? The fact is one is legal and one is illegal.
The overall opinion here and elsewhere shows the concern at TB (and most musicians) is NOT what the drug of choice is, but that people playing impaired is a problem.
