What I find most interesting is how you state that you know a 210 can't compete with a 212, when that just isn't the case. The 2 boxes I noted will not only compete with, they'll prevail over any commercial 212. Anyway, best of luck finding something.

thanks. I will be trying bear faced cabs definitely. It's quite important to try the cabs which is the only reason I'm a little bit limited as to what I can get hold of in the UK.
From what research I've done and different retailers etc these are the cabs I can actually try in the UK.

EA nl 210 although I'm surprised I've not heard anyone mention this cab yet, I've yet to try it but I though it would be up there somewhere.. Anyone tried one?

I already use a Hartke 210 and a Hartke 2.5.

My next purchase will probably be the Hartke Hydrive 210.

I like the flexibility that 210s offer and the punch they deliver. The 2.5 is my go-to cabinet - it drives down far lower than the 210.

I've played the EA NL210 and it's a great-sounding cab! I've also been gigging Fearless 110 and 210 cabs for over two years. I can attest that the F210 is the best sounding cab I've ever played. It's also easily in the same max volume category as a good 410 due to its high-excursion drivers. As a 4-ohm cab, I'm currently pumping about 1175 watts into it with a Reiner Studio 1200 amp. It also sounds great with my 900 watt Puma 900.

It might be hard to find Fearless cabs to try in the UK. I hear the Bearfaced cabs are excellent as well as they also rely on the 3-way crossover design. Since they're made in the UK, you might want to start there.

I've played and gigged many cabs over the years. NOTHING has sounded as good as the 3-ways. Don't want to get dragged into technical arguing about what is and isn't a 210. All I know is my 46-pound Fearless 210 gets the job done on 90% of my gigs. Usually there's a PA to plug into for large venues. And I can always plop the F110 on top for 2.7ohm "F310" stack that's awesome.

Here's a gig video of the F210 in action at an outdoor gig with my power trio. I mic'd the F210 with an ElectroVoice RE-20. Amp was a Puma 900. All settings on neutral.

I have just been checking these out online, pretty cool they are in the Uk as well.
They look amazing although a little out of my initial price range atm.
I would however really love to try one.
oh for a place with all the options laid out before me.

Dunno. I haven't A/B'd 'em. Have you? Of course, you're not talking about a 210 here, anyway.

Is the Jack Lite 210 not a 210? And so the F210 adds the mid, so what :confused: ?

Why's it necessary to A/B anything when the main drivers involved are the 3010HO & 3010LF & the box designers are Greenboy & Bill Fitz? What commercial 212(s) do you think use or may use 12s that can out-displace the Kappa Lites (& in BF's case the box, again, is horn-loaded engineered)?
