2 x 15 cabinet

Years ago, 15's and 18's were bass speakers and 10's and 12's were guitar speakers. I guess that is why I would like to go back to the 15's.

I haven't played the Dually but I must say I am tempted to buy a pair. Awhile back I found recordings with both the Eminence and Faital equipped version. Personally I much preferred the smooth extended top end of the Faitals. To me the Eminence drivers have too much gank for the sound I am after. Anybody have a link to these recordings?

Beyond that I have some old EVM 118Bs that sound pretty sweet with big tube heads. I believe the EVM series had a small diameter voice coil intended more for extended mids than maximum wump. If that's what you are after, you might look for an old Boogie dual 15 with EVM 15Ls or 15Bs.

If you like the tone, the fearful cabs are pretty potent. I used 2 single 15" Bag End cabs for quite awhile, I really liked the sound and I got a lot of complements on my tone... then I played a EA Wizzy 12. The Wizzy was very very close to the Bag End and much easier to cart around. I bought one and then another but I never really needed the second one. I still get a lot of complements on my tone using the Wizzy 12. If you want more low end check out the M Line Wizzy but I've never needed more low end with mine.

I went through a bunch of 2x15's (Mesa, Trace, Peavey, Ampeg, SWR, etc....literally everything I could play) until I found the Berg NV215. Everything else, imho, wasn't even close paired with my SVT and passive basses. Still, that's the sound in my ears that I wanted.

Short of having LDS make me one...
why "short of"?

that's an excellent way to go, worked for me :)

basically the same size as the dually idea, but individual cabs wins ergonomically, both because i can lift one at a time and can use just one for smaller gigs, but also because it allows for the TB-approved tall & skinny stack, which really does improve the sound. they were also well under $300 each unloaded, and not overly heavy.

don made them tuned for the emi kappa A drivers which i already had, and they crush; pushed with half a plx 3002 (so 900w @ 4Ω) they'll fill the room like a blob monster in a steve mqueen movie.
