2011 NFL Preseason/ The Beginning

Glad the preseason means nothing. It was obvious the Brownies game planned a LOT more than the Packers. The Brownies ran a lot of blitzes, etc. Packers played completely vanilla D. When A-rod was in, he was lights out and made them pay for blitzes. Packers D was horrible. I'm glad they have 3 more preseason games to straighten that out.

The Vikings killed the lambs last night. All the offensive starters for the Vikings except the center sat at after the first series. Vikings win 28-7. The rams didn't get a 100 yards offense until there was only about 7 minutes left in the game. Vikings had 414 to the lambs 150. I imagine Brett will sign 5 minutes before the opener and then come out and slaughter the aints.:D:hiding:

ROTFLMAOPMPBBOOMFGPDQ!!!!!!!

The Whinequeen scrubs beat up on the Lamb scrubs, and all the sudden Brent FAR-VUH is going to slaughter the defending SB XLIV Champs in their home stadium on opening night...

...delusional much?

Tebow won't win any awards for the fastest release in the NFL, but that TD run as time expired was fun to watch. Cindy was coming at him hard the whole drive and the one prior. He got popped pretty good a few times.

Maybe they can convince the defense to count "three apple" before they start rushing him? :D

He definitely had his moments out there today. Had a couple really good passes down the sideline, and some definitely questionable decisions, but I thought overall it wasn't bad.

Carson Palmer's little brother looked pretty good out there today too honestly, and I think he should be in the number 2 slot.

Despite the "loss" to the Cards, the Texans first and second team did great last night. It was the 3rd stringers who lost it in the 2nd half, which I'm not too worried about. Andre Johnson proved pretty quickly he's well deserving of his "highest paid WR" title. Schaub was nearly perfect, and pro-bowler Owen Daniels looks like he's well recovered from his ACL tear that forced him to IR last year. Mario Williams looked great as well.

I hope Arian Foster has a breakout season, seeing as the RB we drafted (Ben Tate) might already be out for the season. :(

Running back is my biggest fear heading into the season for the Texans.

When did Buffalo sign Chan Gailey as Head Coach???? I LOL'd :D

It's 1998 all over again in some sort of "Reverse Twilight Zone"

:D

God Bless, Ray

WOW.....Is that true...? I did not know that. Seems more like Groundhog Day to me. At least it'll probably feel like that to Buffalo fans 'cause they'll probably be in for a very long season.

Brutal game in the new Meadowlands tonight.

I thought Tebow was decent, he certainly could have done much worse. He threw a couple of really good deep balls, one of which was badly dropped.

Yesterday's game also confirmed my opinion that Brady Quinn will always suck and suck hard. Seriously, that performance was painful to watch even for a preseason game :scowl: Why the Broncos decided to pick him up I'll never know...

Luckily Orton looked really good, hopefully he can be more consistently good this year. Last year he was phenomenal for the first six games then fell apart.

Now if we can just get some healthy running backs...

Tebow looked ok. He got hit way too much for a QB, and he held the ball forever. "There is nothing on a football field that goes through a football team like the other team's helmet hitting your QB in the chin. The whole team feels it."- Cris Carter.

He did deliver some good balls down the field, and showed flashes of good footwork and mechanics.

BUT as the game went along, he feel back on a lot of the things that he struggles with mechanically. He went back to the tried and true from college and soem of it didn't work well at all.

And I will admit he looked better than Brady, but Orten showed why he was penciled in as the #1.

Yea, I saw that too, but I think some of that can be explained by the fact that his pocket was always about 4ft2 and constantly moving. I'd be interested to see how he would have done with the second team O-Line, since Brady Quinn seemed to have more solid protection.

That is true, but he was scoring against the 2nd, 3rd and practice squad guys too.

I'd like to see him with the first team players. IMO that is the only way to truly gauge what he's got. I'd like to see some of the Tebow packages and things they've been drawing out and hyping him for.
