Always liked Hartnell.
As for Kovalev, I'm done with him. He's had an entire career's worth of excuses which usually are along the lines of "the coach doesn't like me." He's never owned up to underperforming or simply not showing up at all which, let's be honest, has been his M.O. for the longest time.
Instead of having a 1-year contract in the NHL, he opts for a 2-year KHL deal (his 2nd stint there) in which he gets a total of 5 points in 22 games. Now, he blames this on a bad knee which has been surgically repaired. ENOUGH!
This guy has the best hands of any player and an insane amount of talent but has never worked towards being a team guy. He's a cancer in the locker room, is now dreadfully slow, isn't physical enough to be relevant, and is too old to change his ways regardless of what he proclaims.
He says he has, at 40+ years of age, still another decade of hockey left in him. Maybe in a garage league, but not in the NHL.
