Whoa! I wouldn't want him crashing into me at full speed in the corner! Providing, of course, that he'd have the stamina to GET there in time (before I nimbly skated away to safety!).
Flyers are rumored to be discussing a possible trade for (P.K.) Subban. Despite how decimated our blue line looks, I hope this trade does not happen. I'm afraid the Flyers would have to give up too much of their young talent. Plus, I don't think Subban would be a good fit on the Flyers. He always struck me as a whiner, and not opposed to diving. Helluva skater though, and a hard shot...
Subban is a young talent too ya know.

I know. But I don't like the guy enough to want to give up any of OUR young talent for his young talent.
Ah, gotcha. I don't care much for the guy, but maybe I would if the Pens picked him up. Although this current Pens team isn't in much of a position to take on a player like that with no veteran leader on the team to show him the ropes so to speak.

The owners gave Bettman full support to proceed with the lockout. I don't see any hope of an agreement in the next 24 hours.
After doing some more reading, I am leaning to the owners on this one. The NHL is the only pro sports league where the players get more revenue than the owners. If the players want to keep playing and making money, they need to give some of it back to the owners so they teams can stay afloat. The money is there, plenty of it to go around for everyone.

For Subban, the price is supposedly Couturier. That's WAY TOO MUCH!!! If they Flyers want more defense, simply put Couturier back there. 'nuff said.
I can't lean with the owners at all on this. The NHL isn't like the NFL, MLB, or NBA. The NHL doesn't have the huge lucrative TV contract the other sports leagues do and isn't making near the money those leagues are. The NHL players work harder than any of the athletes in those other leagues, take a much worse beating throughout their season and playoffs, and for the most part don't get the endorsement deals either. Give them a little bit bigger piece of the pie.
Also, the owners have been backing the GM's when they give out these big contracts and causing their own pain. They control how much money they make by how much money they spend.
BTW, does anyone understand how this entire thing works anyhow? Teams get a cap at $Xmillion they can spend. That number is based on revenues * that % of HRR / n teams. Few teams spend close to that, several teams barely break the floor, so that % of HRR revenues is never, ever really met. Yet those owners have to keep a % of their players salaries just in case they don't make their money. Poor, poor owners!

Getting back to Dustin Byfuglien - this from Down Goes Brown on his review of NHL 13 in the Bugs and Glitches section:

"Liked" the NHL on FaceBlah a while ago and saw their notice to fans on their the other night abotu the lockout. There's already more than 2,000 replies to it... all blasting the NHL for the lockout.
