2013-2014 NHL playoffs thread.

Coming from a lifelong Rangers fan...

This season has been a huge surprise. They started off with a new coach brining a new system. MSG was still undergoing renovations so they had that monstrous road trip to fight through. Henrik was off his game. Marquee players were not producing. Olympic break.

Traded away the captain and heartbeat of the team for a (yet again) superstar "past his prime".

It looks like they started to come together just at the right time. From a lifelong fan's perspective, likely just to build us up to disappoint us. Seven-game series to torture us as usual. Controversy, tragedy, bonding...

It's been a wild ride so far. I don't want to get chicken poopie at this point...but it's been 20 years of let downs and never reaching this point.

A win tonight, or any time in the next three games if needed, would be an amazing accomplishment for this team.

However, if they lose tonight, I don't think my heart can take watching another game 6 or 7 for that matter.

re: Kings, I couldn't believe it was 4-0 for a while. 2nd goal by hawks should not have happened. Anyway, the Kings did a great job last night.

Oh yeah.....roller coaster night in Montreal. That was too much fun. Lot's of bad blood for the next game.....lock and load.

Plus, rematch between the two Olympic goalies if Montreal makes it and Price is ready.

That was a pretty fun up-and-down game to watch. I was pulling for the Habs - not because NYR beat my Pens, but I too think a Kings/Habs "rematch" would be interesting.

Don't count Chicago out yet. This wouldn't be the first time we've been down 3-1 and came back to win 3 straight games in a row, Detroit had us by the throat last year in round 2. L.A. is playing really good though, and regardless of the results of this series they deserve the cup just as much as anyone else.

Chicago is falling apart. LA has got in their heads and it's causing them to make bad mistakes and take stupid penalties.

Yet, the Hawks have proved that they can come back from being down 3 games to 1 to win a series as they did with Detroit last year - and they went on to win the cup. But the Kings are looking damn good right now if we see them in the finals I'll be rooting for them to beat the Rangers.

Detroit, although a very good team, hasn't got the juice to finish strong. Sadly, their aging players are...duh...aging and their younglings need to get more experience.
