2013-2014 NHL playoffs thread.

that's where # of games played comes into play at 50+ games the likelihood of not facing shots is none goalies w fewer than 40-some games played surely can't be considered although I don't know what the threshold is I'm going to guess it's 50 games for a G to be considered for the Vezina Hasek didn't win 6 of em from the bench he has Grant Fuhr to thank because he wouldnt have played if Fuhr didn't get hurt I bring Hasek up because he has 6 vezina trophies but also played on teams w good defense squads & more than once he'd get bored run on sentence

If I remember, Hasek's numbers took a dive in Detroit.

Have been wondering what effect it would have on Lundqwist's numbers if he played on another team that didn't shot block close to as much as the Rangers did in front of him. Games where they are not blocking the shots for him he looks fairly pedestrian in net.

Good riddance, Detroit. I was disappointed their playoff streak didn't end in their first season in the East (that would have been too much sweet, sweet irony even for me, after they bellyached for so long about being in the West), but this will have to do.

Onto Step Two. Where's Ziltoid? I have a message for him and the rest of those witless toads who call themselves Habs fans....

Hehe. I love the playoffs.

I only saw the last 13 minutes of the third of the Pens game. Fleury looked impressive, hopefully that quiets the critics. I can't put my finger on this Pens team. They blew out CBJ in five regular season games.

Avs win in OT
Pittsburgh wins against Columbus
Bruins defeat Wings and move onto second round
LA shuts out San Jose.

And I thought LA Would lose 4-0. I eat my words. *shame
LA has the momentum in this series. If they capitalize on it then they SHOULD be able to take the series 4-3. Of course, SJ isn't gonna give up without a fight either.

Quick with a nice game in San Jose. The way he's been getting shelled, I didn't expect a shutout.

How about Bobroksky tonight? He gave up two goals and lost, but 48 saves? Wow. I didn't see enough of the game to know how much of that was the PIT offense stepping up and how much was the CBJ defense stepping down.

I see the Caps gave up on Oates and McPhee and let them both go.

See? Positive thinking, my man. You don't see me coming on these boards spouting a hockeysock full of negativity, do ya?

Oh and the way Colorado tied the game late was BS. The fools let a mugging go with an empty net & then blew an offside call.

Still though, San Jose can end it in LA. I can only relax a little until the series is ties 3-3. Game 7 will be interesting if it gets to that.

I WANT the Avs to win though

I'm so messed up with staying at a house with no cable that I didn't look to see that Game 5 of DET-BOS was on NBC.
I'm sure the NHL is happy that there will be a BOS-MTL series. Montreal seems to be able to get the B's out of sync. If the Habs continue to have success at frustrating the B's, then Montreal will take the series. However, the B's have been very consistent all year and seem especially locked in now, I think the B's win in 6.

I hope Montreal beats them. Tired of them sucking on Boston and Pittsburgh.

Oh you just wait til CBC sinks their teeth into this one. You won't even be able to tell there are two teams on the ice. There won't be a single comment made the entire series from the Bruins' pov. And that godforsaken
Glen Healy is already insufferable, by this time next week Im going to want to cut my own ears off with a spoon.

Arb -if the Quebec prision system has any hard cases they need to break down, all they have to do is show Jack and the Nesn broadcast and they'll become model prisioners in less than one period. The nbc broadcast might take a little longer, probably only after Mike Millbury pontificates during the first intermission.
