I always replace the hard plastic feet on my Ampeg amps with softer rubber ones. This has stopped rattles for me - and I believe it could aid in fending off future rattles.

2013 Ampeg V-4B 100W Reissue Pt2

I always replace the hard plastic feet on my Ampeg amps with softer rubber ones. This has stopped rattles for me - and I believe it could aid in fending off future rattles.
Which rubber feet did you get? I haven't any luck finding any in the same size as the plastic ones. I'm using with a 212AV, so preferably they would have to be small enough to sit in the cups properly.
This was the exact scenaio with mine.

It's the ampeg 610hlf, I added the anversery grill cloth to match the v4b grill cloth.
Like to know too. Dang, is that $6.00 for each rubber foot they want? But doesn't this ri-V4-B have some type of anti-vibration or something built in? Thought I'd read that here. Still if those rubber feet help as well, y not.
Just that I was reading a revived thread on the Gramma pad and how so many seem to be buying these to place btw their tube amps and cabs. I have four, 1/2" thick sheets of rubber floor pads I bought at Lowe's for some home use. I was thinking to cut one of the 4'x4' sheets down to size to place on my recently bought, used BF Big Twin-T cab to be safe with my V4-B. I just gigged this cab first time last Sat with my GB 12.2; no vibrating or uncontrolled bass.
Just very focused big bass sound out the front of this very well built/braced cab.....as it should be.
At least y'all saved me over $25 bucks for those four rubber feet.

Ernie, how well does the V4B fit on top of the Big Twin? The feet fit with no overhang? I ask because of I sure have been GAS'ing for that cab (though have doubts I can pull it off financially right now).
Still running my V4B with a Mesa PH212 (with tweeter off). The V4B sounds killer and I've gotten a bunch of compliments on the bass tone out of it over the last bunch of gigs. Also still kicking around moving on from the Mesa to something else cabinet wise, but I've been wavering on that decision for almost a year so I doubt I will come to one any time soon.

I love Ampeg cabs, but Mesas sound really good too!Still running my V4B with a Mesa PH212 (with tweeter off). That's a beautiful setup. I have a 4x12 cab by Hiwatt.. But it's really way heftier to carry around. So... I'd say you're set. I do have a Bag end 2x12 Bagend 1x18's a 1x15 the Hiwatt 4x12 A Peavey 215 and even a Kustom 4x15. But that 2x12 is just..... great to gig with.... And you're 2x12 is bigger than mine. So enough bottom end... I'd say... keep it.
Even my Dynacord 8x10 is .... well... not better than that 2x12.

Well this is the Gen 2, Big Twin-T, you'd have to find one used as I did. Not sure if the Gen 3 BT cab is similar size. But my V4-B sits perfectly on top of my cab. Cab's about 21"wide and all 4 V4-B feet sit fine, no overhang.
The head looks real pretty on top of my 212AV cab. But it looks scary-cool sitting atop the BF cab. Sounds even awesome-er. Its a tall, slim tower of power. I'll post pics asap.

I had a question for y'all. I use my V4B with the master cranked and dial up the gain to get whatever volume I need. I recently added a single coil Precision to my arsenal and have to say this along with the V4B is BY FAR the happiest I've ever been with my tone. One big difference with this bass though over the split cool is that it has a noticeably lower output. As a result, I find I have to push that gain harder to get the volume I need. At my last gig, it was just starting to break up with the gain at about 3:00. With my split cool, I get there about 11:00 or so. Probably not a huge deal, but almost made me feel I was going to run out of gas. Made me wonder if I should get some sort of "clean boost" (like a Fulltone Fat Boost) that will give me the extra gain without altering the tone. I don't use pedals really and not sure I want to start now. What do you guys think?
A clean boost will probably solve your problem. Has the new bass been set up properly in terms of pickup and string height? This will help a bit with the signal level.
