Good point, Ernie. Instead of replacing the cloth, you can buy new grills from Ampeg with the cloth. Call their parts dept. for more info.

2013 Ampeg V-4B 100W Reissue Pt2

I gigged with the v4b into the 810 the other day and I'm in bass heaven!!! I plugged straight in and every note on the fret board was punchy, had definition and articulate. I loved how the harder I dug on the strings the dirtier it got. Everything sounded amazing! Maybe being outdoors had something to do with it??? I just wish I could be more of s shredder but oh well

Ya know, I love my little V-4B/2x210AV rig, but seeing posts like this makes me almost wish my little rig just wouldn't cut it so I could justify going back into the 8x10 world. Almost. Then I think back on the days of lugging a big 8x10 rig around and just how easy my current rig is to move and I'm all like, "Naaaaaah".
Ain't a RI, but I just nabbed this in a sweet deal. 
Don't know too much about it yet apart from it works well worth no hums or issues.
Should collect it in about a week.

Help!
The other day while practicing I was distracted by someone at my door that turned into me having to take off in a hurry. I had switched the head into standby mode but forgot to turn off the power switch before I left.
When I got back to my practice space, hours later, I switched off the power and went home. Today I turned on the amp and it's now making a distinct audible fuzzy hissing noise. I practiced through it anyway hoping it might magically work itself out, but no.
Any ideas? Should I take it somewhere for service? It was purchased in Feb '14 through Sweetwater but I do live in Seattle, so close to Loud headquarters.
Not sure what might have happened but clearly something is not right.

Fried a preamp tube maybe? Got any spares? Maybe swap them one at a time and see if you can find a bad one.

Question before I pull the trigger on one of these...
For my outdoor rig, I have a 4ohm 6x10 and 8ohm 1x15. (I like to throw the 1x15 on the other side of the drummer). Is it possible to run those two with this head? Would I plug the 610 into 2ohm and 115 into 4ohm, or plug both into 2 ohm? I think it's 2.67 total but I'm confused on how to run it. Thanks in advance.

Possible but I wouldn't do it. Then you'd be splitting 100w with two cabs, one that you won't even be able to hear, and all it'll do is cause destructive interference across the stage. If you have to do it, I'd probably use the 4 ohm inputs, but I'd totally recommend against it.
I don't have spares. The last tube head I had was an SVT classic back in the '90's. The last thing I want to do is void my warranty but I'd also like to get it fixed sooner than later and without shipping, if possible. Anyone know if I should talk with the Loud people or the Sweetwater people before I just bring it to my local technician?
It does not void your warranty to change out tubes. If the tubes go, you have to change them out, and they realize that I would definitely call LOUD, though, since you're pretty close by. Maybe they could even take a look at it.

I've got a few gigs under my belt with the V4b/212av reissue rig and can't seem to make myself take anything else to the gigs now. I'm Seriously wondering what kind of crack I would cause in my musical universe if I added a 2nd 2x12av cab to the rig.
You can use either the 2 ohm jack(s) OR the 4 ohm jack(s) OR the 8 ohm jack but your can't mix them. There would be an impedance matching problem that could harm the amp.
If you do want to connect the two cabinets, run them both into the 2 ohm jacks. As Jimmy said, if the cabs are not matched, you would end up with more power going into one cab than the other.
I don't know, but I can't imagine a V4B/212av x 2 rig being anything but crazy great.

Thanks guys. Powering the 115 at half the power of the 610 is actually what I'm going for, both in terms of not blowing it out and not overwhelming my guitar player. (This setup works great with my DB751). I'm going to get a V4B regardless because it will mostly get used with single cab situations, but I was curious on my options.
It shouldn't have caused any problem, especially if it was in standby. When I got mine I accidentally left it on overnight and apart from being rather hot it made no difference at all.
