Depends if you want clean tube, or dirty tube tone

so.. this has 6l6s like the v4bh. does anyone know if it has the same "weak" 100 Watts as the v4bh, or is it more a beast like the original?
is the rumor that this has more headroom than the original true?

Different how?
they both are a passive tone control with pre-tube(s) and power tubes into a power transformer? Same tonestack even? So what is it you think is different other than one has 4 power tubes, or 5 or whatever vs. 2 powertubes.

Unless I am incredibly mistaken, all tube amps, are pre-tubes, power tubes, and a power transformer at there basic level.

Very Cool. I really like that 100w tube amps are coming into style with this and the Fender 100T. I have found that 100 watts is pretty good. I played the heck out of an old bassman 100 and there was only one time that I thought I could have used a little more headroom... big outdoor stage with not the best monitors or sound guy.

Never got interested in the 100T. Mainly because of the "modern" channel. I really like the simplicity of this amp. That is my speed.

I had a V4BH for about 3 gigs and got rid of it. I was using some pretty bad speakers at the time, but just never got a sound I liked. I kind of want one of these.

I just meant in terms of power. And FWIW, if it's like the orignal, it has active midrange.

I already asked this in the new cab thread. What are the signal path, wiring, schematic, boards, and transformer like compared to the orginals? Also, I am disappointed in the low end response of the new cabs (spec-wise at least). How about a dual or a fat*ss single 15? What color is that grill cloth? AV and Heritage stuff has two diff grill colors, right?

Yeah, the Heritage and the VR have different cloths. This is closer to the VR cloth.
