Maybe she meant that she wants to horse around. My wife wants a cow. Probably cause she wants to move out of the city. Otherwise, Invalid Link Removed are some fine equine friends.

Good Lord!! My last day on the job is the end of August (Finally hanging up my day job). Anyway, moving to Telluride Colorado and my Wife tells me that she wants to "raise chickens".......Lordy....what is this world coming to??? :D

Wow that sounds pretty good. Low end with the active 5er sounded a little weak, but could have been the mic/cab setup too. Looking forward to hearing one in person.

Dino's going to shoot more tone samples. He got a new mic to try out and we can think about showing the tone with an 810 or other cab. What kind of stuff would you guys like to hear?

Actually that's not a bad idea. I mean, you can really get into a ton of permutations with all of this, and it can get time consuming, but covering the bases of the variety of cab pairings and tonal flexibility would be interesting. How the amp sounds with a sealed 8x10 vs the ported 2x12 at the same or similar tone settings and the different basses would certainly be informative. A lot more work on your end, but if it helps sell product...

Im most interested to know where it falls on the volume/headroom and oomph spectrum between the original and the V4bh which wasn't half the muscle of the original. is it the oomph of the original which could hang in with loud rock, or is it more of a small combo group and studio amp?

To hear how the head does with lows, I'd really like to hear it with a five string and the SVT-410HLF. I guess you could use a PN-115LF or two, but the V4B wouldn't look right on that cab.

Is there a matching grill available for the SVT-410HLF?

Maybe this will boost the market value of the real deal. Last I looked you could pick one up for around 700. Should be worth 1800 now that it has a look alike little cousin for 13.

Still wouldn't sell mine; absolutely slays with two fifteens under it.

Different how?
they both are a passive tone control with pre-tube(s) and power tubes into a power transformer? Same tonestack even? So what is it you think is different other than one has 4 power tubes, or 5 or whatever vs. 2 powertubes.

Unless I am incredibly mistaken, all tube amps, are pre-tubes, power tubes, and a power transformer at there basic level.
Who says it's the same tone stack? And who says it's passive? All the tone stacks in Ampeg amps both cut and boost.

We are working now to provide VR style grilles for the SVT-410HLF, SVT-410HE, SVT-15E and SVT-610HLF. There is one already for the 810 (the 810-AV grille).

While I don't have an exact date, we plan to make these and have them available through our parts dept for order. We will be sure to communicate this out once all done. Should provide a lot of options for Ampeg users.
