2017 was great for bass, because...?

I got me a hand built cab to my personal specs and a matching case for my amp. I now have this beautiful rig and it makes me incredibly happy:

I may discover the same about mine now that dedpool1052 has clued me onto the obvious, having gotten the PU heights down so a more vintage voice can be had I'm finally embarking on my long overdue journey with this bass before the year ends!

looks like '17 was a good year in bassland for a lot of us, and it just got even sweeter for me.
here's hoping everybody on this planet can have a better 2018!

In 2017, I was fortunate enough to:
  1. Locate a Greg Curbow Petite 6 for a very reasonable price.
  2. Track down an EBMM Bongo HS 6 in my favourite PDN finish Honey Roasted.
  3. Place a new build in the queue at FBass (VF6-PJ Fretless) which should begin construction sometime in the next few weeks.
Not only that, but 2017 marks 20 years since I jammed regularly with local musicians. I found a guitarist and drummer in August and I’ve been digging the original music. I was also comforted that I hadn’t become as rusty as I had feared.

congrats on the T-45! tell me more about your Axc, I've been intrigued with the Plus (ash body) version but hadn't heard about that bridge, looks interesting!

Thanks! I really missed the T-45 (and I don't miss my T-40).

I've previously owned an Axcelerator 4, which was a fantastic bass. I own an Axc-5, so I didn't think I'd miss the 4...I was wrong.
The Axcelerator 2T is perfect for me. It's light, comfortable and I love the pre-amp in the Axcelerators (I'm normally a passive guy), and is very versatile. The bass boost is fantastic.
I usually use headphones when I practice late at night. This is, by far, the best bass I've ever heard through my headphones.

The 2TEK "Harmonic Isolation Bridge" is interesting. Not really sure what it adds to the overall picture, but it's mounted in a really neat way - you can actually see right through the body of the bass.

good to hear, I nearly snagged a sweet cream finished 4 Plus last month for cheap, I had a good feeling about that bass. there's a Std. 5 locally I want check out but I guess the 4 str. PU is an issue for the E and G. I judge basses by using headphones, it's truer, plus it just sounds awesome ;)
